England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
From a gloriously sunny, saviour of cricket, Old Trafford.
England win the toss and bowl. Groundsman has produced a really long boundary for those slogging Adildo to get caught.
Game on.

Looks like the batsman will have to dig England out of a hole again, this Haider is some find a 28 ball 50 on debut.

England bowl short Pakistan hit it long, you'd think they'd have learnt from the other day, but apparently not. Whatever happened to the good old-fashioned yorker.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
I dare say that England might knock these off, but I've found it really quite frustrating, (bordering on depressing) watching England's second string bowlers in these past two matches. The skill-set and application is way below international standard.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
How many runs does Tom Curran owe us if he get a bat?
Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
Moeen Ali due some too. We have some big hitters, we have a chance of getting these.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 7:39 pmHow many runs does Tom Curran owe us if he get a bat?

England chasing 191 to win.
Jordan bowled very well, Mahmood did ok bowling at the toughest times, Curran and Gregory were poor, and Rashid was shocking.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
190-4 it's an improvement on Sunday. I do still think we'll knock them off, but there will come a time when England won't recover from a mauling in the field, this attack can't play against the Aussies, the likes of Finch, Smith & Warner will cream them to all parts.

The difference in quality between our current test players and the 20/20 players is ridiculous.

Interesting that Rashid could be both ok and shocking! I'm confused.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 7:46 pmEngland chasing 191 to win.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
Not really. England's white ball team are world champions, and they form the majority of this team, plenty of key players not available at present. Good learning curve for some of these lads, and it's not really a bowlers game at Old Trafford too often in T20.Richardsbfc wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 7:50 pmThe difference in quality between our current test players and the 20/20 players is ridiculous.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
Lads - you're hammering them again at half time. It's a batters game, a batter's wicket. Bowlers will go for plenty of runs. They weren't great some of them, but they're not the write offs you're making them out to be - especially with no cricket behind them.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
I may be wrong but there's is only 3 of the World Champions playing 20/20 at the moment isnt they? Morgan, Ali, Bairstowdandeclaret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 7:54 pmNot really. The rest of the WC are in the test side.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
Morgan, Ali, Bairstow, Rashid - 4 of them, but that only further invalidates the point doesn't it? Add Woakes, Buttler, Stokes, Roy, Root, Archer to this team, to turn it into the 20:20 team, and it looks a lot better.

That group of players you mention are significantly better than the ones current playing 20/20 that they would replace.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
That's why some of us have described it as a very poor "second-string" attack. They're just not bowling well enough for any level.Richardsbfc wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 7:59 pmI may be wrong but there's is only 3 of the World Champions playing 20/20 at the moment isnt they? Morgan, Ali, Bairstow

Young Banton is impressing again, he's been the real plus this summer, Jason Roy might struggle to regain his place, hard as that is to believe.

Rashid may have to bat yet. He could turn it around with a match winning 50.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 8:19 pmOh yeah - forgot that he was a Yorkie too.

Billings gone 26 ends a good partnership with Moeen, 65 off 34 needed not impossible but difficult with a new batsman.

Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
Maybe not any level, but at any reasonable level of county cricket and even in the local leagues, you'd be very disappointed to see bowlers serving up so many long hops, misdirected slower bowls, and all the other dross that we've seen in the past two games.

Gregory out 170-6, 21 off 13, looks like it's down to Moeen.

19 from 11 - Jordan gone, 3 wickets remaining. Tom Curran and Moeen Ali currently batting.
Re: England vs Pakistan 3rd T20
Hard task this now. Rauf seems quite adept at putting it in the block hole when he wants to
