Germany-Spain is the stand out tie, it's weird that this comp will be starting way before the 2020 tournament has been staged, but we're living in a weird world.

Russia-Serbia

Ukraine-Switzerland

Also catch the eye.

As for the home nations Wales face a tricky challenge away to Finland, and they also have a lot of injuries to contend with, they might accept a point in the circumstances.

Well the ROI have the pleasure of visiting Bulgaria, thankfully for them they'll be no fans, so there can't be a repeat of the torrid scenes which marred England's visit there last year.

From a BFC POV as long as all our players get some game time, and crucially come back unscathed that's the important thing for us.

Last time the games all had the feel of a pre season tourney , decent enough but nobody really cared about the results . Presuming it’s been a financial hit though

Looking forward to see how Ireland line out tonight as Kenny has said we will be different , hummmm anything other than a back line of 8 must be a plus .

If you can't get a result in Bulgaria, you guys really are in trouble, they looked dire in the last qualifying group, and England could and possibly should have racked up double figures against them. Surely you've got to set up more offensively, and try and bag a few goals.

Honestly I think this year, this competition could have been scrapped.
International football, three weeks after the season ended, going then into a late starting football season, followed by the Euros. Madness

I thought we may have had a goal at last, but Latvia then get their penalty saved.

No goals in the early game, it can only get better can't it.

Hendrick starts for the Republic, Brady on the bench.

The interesting fact about the Irish side is young Idah getting his debut, he's an exciting prospect this lad.

It's been a problem for them ever since Robbie Keane retired. And their lack of a cutting edge is a major drawback.

An assist for Robbie right at the death.

And Spain scoring a 96th minute equaliser.

Only BPF involved from a Clarets perspective, I don't think Vydra was called up to the Czech Republic squad from memory.

Netherlands-Poland game has all the making of a cracker.

Scotland should win, but with them you can never be sure, NI have a tricky looking tie, but I don't know how good or else Romania are these days.

Scotland finished 1-1, they were dire 2nd half, and were lucky to get a point in the end.

Great experience and education for the lad too. Enjoyed quoting the Sky commentator's superlatives to the Leeds fans here in Wakey.

Wales-Bulgaria kicking off soon. Bale starts, but probably won't play the full 90.

ROI-Finland follows at 5, Robbie should have a good chance of starting you'd think.

Switzerland-Germany tonight should be a good contest.

Bulgaria must be gutted, the 2nd time in a few days an injury time goal has cost them dear. Wales keep digging out the wins despite not playing well and carrying a long injury list.

Faroes weren't playing Switzerland, they were away to Andorra, they did win 1-0 though, and amazingly have 6 points out of 6 in their group.

Apologies. Got that of Sky Sports text. They initially showed it as Brentford v Wycombe, so I refreshed and it came up Switzerland. Grrrrrr!!

Heaven knows who they got those countries mixed up, and Switzerland couldn't possibly have been playing a minnow, as naturally they are in the A group as one of the top ranked nations, I'm still getting to grips with all this NL stuff, but you'd imagine they'd by up to speed by now.

That would by a story if the Faroes went to Switzerland and won.

Same old story for the Republic, lots of possession, but no cutting edge, 0-0 at HT, Robbie seems to be having a bright game though.

I didn't realise Hendrick is on the bench, that's unusual if it stays scoreless he'll come on 2nd half surely, they really have to win this game given the start Wales have made.
