Vokes and Ward harsh as they were both a natural end on both sides I think

Re: Players who (probably) regret leaving us
Probably not many tbh.
You need to look at it from a non Burnley fans pov. Those players weren’t earning big money in football terms. Shackell for instance would have gained far more at Derby. Then have we really achieved anything great? Yes from a Burnley fans view, but if your a footballer with no connection to Burnley other than 4/5 seasons a player. No. They’ll look back on it as their most successful years, but they never gave up anything great. Then there’s personal life too. Football fans always think players make decisions based on football for some reason. If eg Vokes personal life has improved then for him he won’t regret a thing.

Would imagine Andre Gray might be happier with a London(ish) club with his popstar bird and that.

Richard Chaplow. In my opinion he should have stayed another 18 months. He was still learning the game. If he had I believe he would have gone on to bigger and better things.

Re: Players who (probably) regret leaving us
For me it was those lads who followed Owen Coyle to Bolton Wanderers - Chris Eagles soon went down hill, Tyrone Mears (albeit in part because I think he picked-up an injury?) whom I saw playing for Atlanta just a few years later where he was earning <£70k a YEAR and the biggest loser - albeit no longer playing - for me was Steve Davis; had he stayed at the Turf I believe the club would always have found a job for him; where did he go/what did he do since Bolton?

Re: Players who (probably) regret leaving us
I didn't think it at the time, but I'd add Arfield to this list, he's won nothing in Scotland, and he's not even a regular first choice for Gerrard now.

Re: Players who (probably) regret leaving us
Scottie was not good enough for the Premier league, moving to the lower league in Scotland extended his career
He will get picked by Rangers as a squad player and can earn a living which is more than lots of players released by clubs will do

Fully agree here. Chappy ought to have been a Prem player IMO. We needed the money though.

Re: Players who (probably) regret leaving us
Only injuries held him back, not changing club. Those injuries finally saw him hang up his boots far too early.

Colin Waldron... no career after he left for Utd
Ray Hankin... never really took off at Leeds
