At the moment we are not a squad cut to the bare bones, we are cutting into the bone and if we do not get in 4 or 5 players (unless the youngsters are thought up to it) given Long has a back problem so could be out for weeks, Barnes seems to have had problems with his hernia surgery (it doesn't take this length of time to recover) Mee has a muscle tear that is still not fixed after almost 10 weeks and Cork is nursing a post-op foot of I think a similar duration.
We are lacking some quality players and if mediocrity is signed we could be in big trouble. We are normally a top tip for the drop, this season even more so presently.

Surprised by so many suggesting Leeds. I really can’t see them going down.

They’ll be really well drilled and working as a team (a bit like us but with more attacking threat) I suspect.

Brighton look a good bet but the other places could be one of five or six (including us).

If we don’t make the appropriate signings I really fear it will be us taking one of the relegation places

Not enough strength in the depth, even to fill a a matchday squad (if we were to play a league game tomorrow)

With playing through a pandemic, games are going to come in thick and fast, I fear players are going to burn-out, Dyche can’t work wonders every time.

I don’t want to really judge until the window closes, but the question is about ‘now’ - and I think our time in the Premier league will be up in the current circumstances.

Dyche has proven me wrong every season though

Hopefully we can get a few deadline day deals - I don’t mind if we sell Tarkowski either, it’s the way we have to grow as a club. We don’t need to bring in world beaters, I think we just need more numbers because I think we’ll see more rotation this season with quarantines, isolation, injuries etc.

Manchester United have six players unavailable at the moment because of Covid. They can probably cope, but imagine if there was a positive test in our tight-but squad during a matchweek and key players have to isolate for 7 days....

**Surprised to see Brighton mentioned so much. Made some canny signings, have a Ben White back, and their manager is a year in with experience. Could be thee surprise package for me.
