Re: Pickford in goal for England
Sounds like we're playing well but just haven't been able to score. Iceland are classed with us as one of the 16 League A sides so its not like the old walk in the park friendly's previous managers got against the real mediocre rubbish
A win would be nice but a result and a domineering performance away at Iceland is a good outcome for Southgate whichever way you look at it (excluding butt hurt biased Burnley fans)

Sterling has spun him twice in the last 2 minutes and several times throughout the game.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 6:14 pmAbsolute Dross!
The right back for Iceland is doing a good job on Sterling........sign him up.

Re: Pickford in goal for England
It’s been tepid stuff from England. I thought we’d improved on unlocking stubborn defences but this is a very weak lineup.

Re: Pickford in goal for England
Possibly if Iceland had their first choice players playing, but they don't, if this finishes 0-0 Southgate will get savaged by the Sunday papers.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 6:14 pmSounds like we're playing well but just haven't been able to score. It's all find and dandy having the ball, but you have to do something with it.
Ings on for Foden.

Can't blame Sarfgate for that stupid challenge. Down to ten men for no reason.

Re: Pickford in goal for England
They have huffed and puffed their way through this game. Lots of pretty triangular passing with zero end product. It is poor.

It would brighten up if we had Taffy on the wing and he’s 67.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 6:14 pmAbsolute Dross!

Re: Pickford in goal for England
Is this a game that someone like Dwight McNeil could have made a difference and created the spark to get the goal we need?

Re: Pickford in goal for England
No need for Dwight, there’s a 108 million pound wandering about looking lost, no need for footballers who know what they are doing.

Re: Pickford in goal for England
I don’t think so. There’s a lot more talented players on the pitch. The problem is they have absolutely no synergy.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 6:36 pmIs this a game that someone like Dwight McNeil could have made a difference and created the spark to get the goal we need?

Re: Pickford in goal for England
Not imo no. Iceland have defended like it's a game of chess and tracked the right player when needed at the right time.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 6:36 pmIs this a game that someone like Dwight McNeil could have made a difference and created the spark to get the goal we need?

Re: Pickford in goal for England
Sign of a good team when they can win even when they are not at their best. Southgate vindicated once again
