Greenwood & Foden in trouble

Post by ralphc » Mon Sep 07, 2020 12:10 pm

Reports stating they had girls back in their room in Iceland. If true, how stupid are they to do something like that. Both not training this morning and will put more pressure on Southgate.

They all do it, and in normal circumstances, young daft, rich lads having harmless fun is fine

Stupid in this case though

It's Iceland, they're unlikely to be 12 tonne titters.

Is it not more the point of isolation due to COVID-19? Either way completely irresponsible for England international footballers.

It’s not the women. It’s the bubble they should be in.
Denmark could quite rightly claim Tuesdays match as the whole squad will, likely, have been in contact with their teammates.

Tarks might get a call up yet.

Seems they have been sent home rather than travel to Denmark. Given the current situation it could have caused major problems and I would also assume the squad will all need to be tested again. You would hope that they won’t be in future England squads for a reasonable period of time.

Judging by the short clip that's doing the rounds, it looks like they were more interested on being on their phones than anything else

Theoretically .....

They met these girls whilst out, presumably. Let’s say somebody in that bar had Covid. So Greenwood and Foden have to quarantine - would every player in the squad have to as well?

That would be fun with the Premier League starting this weekend.

Gareth Southgate said: "Unfortunately this morning, it was brought to my attention that two of the boys have broken the Covid-19 guidelines, in terms of our secure bubble. So we had to decide very quickly that they couldn't have any interaction with the rest of the team and wouldn't be able to train. Given the procedures we have to follow now they will have to travel back to England separately.

"Nothing has happened in the areas we occupy in the hotel. we are still getting to the depths of all the information because this was only brought to may attention a couple of hours before training, so I'm still getting to grips with the detail. What is clear is there is a breach of the Covid-19 guidelines. The whole squad have really followed that to the letter. I'm not gong into any more details until I'm aware of everything."

Well I hope they have to pay their own airfares. but I doubt they will.

If it was Pickford and Henderson I reckon Southgate would probably put Jadon Sancho in goal.

Both brain dead, just like their waistcoat-wearing goofy simpleton of a manager.

(Yes, I am still fuming that Southgate is effectively forcing Tarkowski to seek a move away from us)

There'd be nothing to release if they'd just said no. And there were lots of very good reasons to say no that even their limited brain power should have been aware of.

They lead privileged lives and ignore the responsibility bestowed upon them. Regardless of talent. They should not be allowed anywhere near the England team for a long time. I feared this would happen when you allow kids to do what they want and get ahead of themselves. I fear for McNeil in that environment if and when he makes it. They're not alone of course. Walker is another and there are probably others I have missed. Shouldn't be near the team until they can conduct themselves accordingly.
