Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
Another good news report!
Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
A bit worrying!
Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
Wouldn't surprise me with the training they've missed that both Mee and Cork won't feature for quite a few games, due to lack of match fitness.
Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
Barnes has been doing bits with the lads dipping in and out of training.
Cork had a protective boot on 3 weeks ago and not seen him since
Not seen Ben Mee at all, not on the grass or otherwise.
Dont think we will see the last 2 in action in September, fingers crossed for October, however with Mr Dyche and the way he likes to make sure they're 100% ready and had a couple of 90 minutes in the legs I'd be putting my chips nearer November

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
Not surprising it’s appears Dyche wants out.
Injuries are to be expected but to lose so many players and having to start another season with no replacements after all he’s done must be galling.

Patience is a virtue is the saying.
Pity Ben Gibson didn't have any, because this would have been his chance for a lengthy run in the side

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
This is devastating news about Mee. Why on earth we have not signed a cb before making this news public? The price of whoever we now get, if anybody, will have gone up even more now.

Maybe to tell the vultures circling around Tarky either hit the asking price or stay away.summitclaret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 10:38 amThis is devastating news about Mee. We cannot afford a brand new CB partnership starting a premier league season unless there's 50m ( nearer 40m after Brentford take their cut ) added to the coffers.

14 senior outfield players available ( including Tarkowski ) a matter of days before the Premier League season starts. Numbers cant have been so low since Steve Cotterill's first season.

You can almost hear MG winding up the fax machine ready to put out his annual plea to all agents, this time for 2 CB's
Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
Whilst Dyche is paid extremely well to do a tough job he has to be given the basic tools to do the job. It is getting to the point where he is not (a bit like the Cotterill era as a poster mentioned above). Time for some action from Garlick.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
Reading some of the below which can be taken out of context as it does not give everything but the “Internally I am the only one who knows things going on, with the chairman and the board, but that is nothing to do with anyone else." comment could arguably mean the friction is very much still there..

This is worrying, to say the least: what does Rigg do all day? If we get off to a bad start we could be struggling for a long while.

Another depressing read, think the chairman is playing with fire if he does not support the gaffer soon.

How many times have we heard that in pre-season over the past five years?Local cricketer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 11:10 amI've just taken the 3-1 about us been relegated. Printing money
Have to admit, though, the tone on transfers is depressingly familiar...

We have made 5 signings this window, that's more than a few clubs in the league.
Identifying targets isnt so much the issue, signing the cheques is.

We’ve just had a top half finish, since which we have lost just one first team regular. There is nearly two weeks until our first game of the season. The bed-wetters are quick to throw in the towel as usual.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
More pertinently how many if any of those 5 will play any part in our 1st team squad, let alone the starting XI, it's all fine and well recruiting emerging youngsters, and we should develop our youth team squads if we can, but a blind man can see we need players for the here and now.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 11:45 amWho are the 5 signings Macca, for my own information please?
We've got Gibson, Hart, Hendrick, Legzdins & Kennon off the books, that must give us some wriggle room to bring replacements in surely, if not it's going to be a long winter.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
Thank you Reecey, I only recognise one of the names, which is the goalkeeper from Wolves: I assume, therefore, that the other four are not intended for the first team squad.
Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
The situation is a little mind boggling. Where is the club heading? There doesn't seem to be direction at the moment, it's worrying and you cannot blame Dyche for publicly airing his views. We are desperately short, and that's before the possible departure of one or more of our star assets. Everyone knows the situation regarding finances, nothing changes, but to enter a season woefully short is negligent.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
To be fair to Gibson, he may well have bided his time waiting for a rare injury for the left sided centre back, and may well have played a dozen games, then he would be back on the bench sat next to Vydra, a similar story, who had one poor game at Newcastle and was suddenly out.
We all know that Dyche likes his favourites back in ASAP - I’m sure all managers do that in a sense, but approaches will vary and part of the skill is in keeping a squad happy and feeling like they may get their moment and keep their place. We’ve even seen Champions League managers upset big players due to this issue before - Bale at Madrid for example.

Make the brews. Dust down the fax machine. Sweep up the Tumbleweed. It’s a good gig for Rigg. Think I’ll apply when he leaves the post.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 11:24 amThis is worrying, to say the least: what does Rigg do all day? I'm worried because I identify with my team. Burnley FC has been an important part of my life for over 60 years and I want to see them continuing to de well.

It could also mean that things are "ok." If your glass is always half empty, I can understand people looking for the negatives. However, if your glass is half full then "I am the only one who knows things going on...." can mean that our transfer activities are private and will remain private until we've got something to announce."ClaretAL wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 11:18 amReading some of the below which can be taken out of context as it does not give everything but the “Internally I am the only one who knows things going on, with the chairman and the board, but that is nothing to do with anyone else." comment could arguably mean the friction is very much still there..

I like the statement about financial strength and not needing to sell. It's not that many seasons back that we needed to sell.
Let's see what happens.

"It doesn’t look as though any of our injured players, those who have missed the pre-season games so far, are likely to be back in time for the start of the new Premier League season."
Is that THE start of the Premier League season (ie this weekend) or the the start of OUR Premier League season (19th)

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
They ain't signings. They are little boys thinking football is the future for them. We need real signings none of this youth team nonsense. Who cares about football below the first team?
Re: ARTICLE: Dyche gives injury update
Absolutely pathetic that we haven’t signed a centre half KNOWING Ben Mee was going to miss a fair chunk of the start.

Answer was its a list of the signings recognised by the Premier League as confirmed signings.
