Manchester United kit
This is their third kit, they could wear this when the game at the Turf finally goes ahead.

Maybe they think that if they look like zebras, they won't be so easy to tackle, after all, they reckon it works to confuse lions.

Come on you zebras!
Re: Manchester United kit
Actually thinking about it, in the same way we’ve lowered the shoulder line for disputable hand balls, this pattern may well affect the cameras for VAR offsides...

If they do wear it Tony we should laugh them out of the ground. That's terrible.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 4:40 pmThis is their third kit, they could wear this when the game at the Turf finally goes ahead.

Re: Manchester United kit
I’m reliably told the shorts and socks are fake news and will actually be all white - no evidence for that though - just what I’ve been told from a Utd friend - maybe he’s clutching at straws!
Re: Manchester United kit
Well that big lummox Maguire is going to look even more clumsy in this kit. It must be a wind up, as surely no one high up at United would give approval to this?

Re: Manchester United kit
I’m not advocating swearing, however if they do rock up at the Turf in this kit I am certain there will be a resounding “what the f@cking hell is that?” Coming from three and a half sides of the ground.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 4:54 pmIf they do wear it Tony we should laugh them out of the ground. Assuming that can be done virtually of course

Re: Manchester United kit
The kit at the top of this thread has come directly from the Manchester United club store so I'm not expecting them to be fake news.Selby Claret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 5:15 pmI’m reliably told the shorts and socks are fake news and will actually be all white - no evidence for that though - just what I’ve been told from a Utd friend - maybe he’s clutching at straws!

I had a long sleeved casual shirt of similar pattern made by Billabong, it was a really smart shirt for a night out. Thankfully I recycled it earlier this year.

Re: Manchester United kit
Is the dazzle ships thing what they are going for?
It seems third kits are going crazier by the season... the crazier the kits the more re-tweets its get, weighed up with how many times they actually play in it, probably makes it worthwhile from a publicity point of view.

Well, at least when we get around to releasing our 3rd kit in January, it won’t be the worst in the league!

Re: Manchester United kit
Update: Apparently the crazy shorts and socks are only for fans to buy to ‘complement’ the shirt - but the team will play in white shorts / socksClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 5:53 pmThe kit at the top of this thread has come directly from the Manchester United club store so I'm not expecting them to be fake news.

If they wear it in the third round away to that lot, expect trouble.

So, if their winger puts the ball in our box, does it make him a zebra crossing then?

Re: Manchester United kit
Interestingly, it's now believed that the zebras stripes evolved as it gives them a slight advantage in putting off flies and other biting insects, rather than lions.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 4:49 pmMaybe they think that if they look like zebras, they won't be so easy to tackle, after all, they reckon it works to confuse lions.
They put a 'zebra coat' on horses in a recent study and it did indeed prevent flies from landing on them in the same numbers.
