Yes she is, but goes across the range, the one Steve shared previous thread for Led Zep, playing to them in concert singing Stairway to Heaven was fantastic.
These links with Joe are new for me and I love Blues, and definitely on a par with Jeff Beck and a different kind of music, love finding new ones, must be millions that I haven't seen, thank you

I can't believe that nobody has included David Gilmore, totally iconic sound.

So many to choose from. Rather arbitrarily narrowed it down to Bill Nelson [my number 1], Dave Gilmour, Laurie Wisefield, Neil Young, Frank Zappa, Robin Trower. I was assuming the OP meant lead guitarists and not bassists, otherwise I'd have included Martin Turner and Chris Squire.

Before his solo fame, Glen Campbell was part of the " Wrecking Crew ", the LA based group of session players who started as Phil Spector's House Band but went on to play for virtually everyone in the sixties and early seventies. Drummer Hal Blaine was reported to have played on over 140 Top 10 hits from " I got you Babe " to " Strangers in the Night ", from " Can't Help falling in love " to " Bridge over Troubled Water " .....

Depends what kind of guitar playing you're talking about .For rhythm lead Don Everly has got to be in the frame closely followed by Neil Simon .Always liked Joe Brown but Eddie Cochran and Chuck Berry are on my list because I'm an old fashioned rocker at heart .

Yes i did originally mean lead guitarists but some talented bass guys of course.
Three of my favourites would be Jack Bruce of Cream , John Paul Jones of Led Zep and Geddy Lee of Rush.

Gratifying to see so many mentions for fellow Yorkshireman Bill Nelson - probably the most under-rated British guitarist ever.
Best guitarist I've seen live was Rory Gallagher.

Some great selection on this.
I can't believe Joey Santiago not mentioned !
Johnny Marr
George Harrison
Joey Santiago
Keith Richards
Thurston Moore
Little Barrie (check him out)
I could pick many more. Sometimes less is more with music.
Boring (even if well executed) technically brilliant long solo's are not for me really.

There have been so many guitar performances that have transported me to heaven, including some punk.
But I will go for the music I love and how the playing supported the song - so its Joe Messina.
Ry Cooder should be in any reasonably long list.
