Re: Taxi for Southgate
He is the manager of a squad that includes
A player that attacks another
A player that went to a sex party during lockdown
A player who lost control in Greece
And two players who took girls back to their room in Iceland
Discipline is down to him, he needs to set examples

Re: Taxi for Southgate
On being asked about why he played Trippier at left back instead of a left hand sided player he said "Yes but where are they. Shaw is injured at the moment and Danny Rose isn't involved with Spurs at the moment" what a load of garbage.

Re: Taxi for Southgate
Oh come on the England football team is boring, predictable, ponderous, overrated and overly obsessed with youth for the sake of it. These players shrink when playing for England and are made to look good for their club teams by the talent around them. As much of knob Grealish is he should have started as he carries a threat. Where were Alexander Arnold’s rampaging runs? Why is Dyer still in the squad? And who exactly is Phillips?TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 10:06 pmClean sheet, you moaning *******. Correct response: Burnley, Lancashire: You've been there often enough. Goes by the name of Charlie Taylor. Wears No. 3.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 10:11 pmOn being asked about why he played Trippier at left back instead of a left hand sided player he said "Yes but where are they. Re: Taxi for Southgate
The reason why he plays young players from the so called big clubs is because it keeps the big clubs' fans happy and more importantly it gives him the "jam tomorrow" excuse that they are learning and we have to be patient.

I think a taxi from Copenhagen to Harrogate is a little silly.
I’m not a transport expert but I’d suggest he’d be better off taking a bus to an airport, flying back to an English airport and then taking a train home.

Re: Taxi for Southgate
A great display of modern football at its best. Twenty passes to move the ball 10 yards forward before goind back to keeper. No creativity, only 1 shot on goal in the first 45 minutes, mind you, they did improve in the second half with 5 more shots and 2 were on target --wow! Free kicks being given to both teams because there was a slight touch from an opponent. Plenty of sideways movement but nothing much going forward.
Boring doesn't even come into it!

Re: Taxi for Southgate
I have for a while maintained that Charlie Taylor will play for England.
I must add the following caveat - when Gareth Southgate is no longer in charge...
I had high hopes for Southgate when he started, but he has fallen into the same old routine as his predecessors. Selecting `names` as opposed to selecting a team... he's even selecting players and playing them out of position in order to keep them in the team.
Gareth, just grow a feckin pair will you?

Re: Taxi for Southgate
Reel it back in. Dreadful performances in both games. Arguably got one of the best forward lines in world football but he plays 7 defensive players behind them. He's clueless. Time for a change.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 10:06 pmClean sheet, you moaning *******. And without Tarks and Pope.

Re: Taxi for Southgate
Southgate is living on Russia 2018, yes we reached the last 4, but that flattered us, and as soon as we encounter a decent side we are found out big time, I dread to think how many Belgium will rack up against us when we meet them in this group.
The writing has been on the wall for some time now, and even in the European qualifiers England had an easy group, but even in those games there was warning signs, shipping goals at home to Kosovo, and obviously the defeat in Prague, the worrying aspect is we've gone backwards since the WC, and there's no apparent upturn on the horizon under Southgate's leadership.

Re: Taxi for Southgate
said it from day ONE, did nothing whatsoever in his career to warrant getting the job. Got Boro relegated, his U21's under achieved massively and played boring one paced stagnant football. He's a ******* FA yes man and nothing more. Southgate Out

Southgate is an absolute fraud. He's done absolutely nothing in his career to warrant the top job. He's just your typical FA yes man.

Re: Taxi for Southgate
He's just being what he always was, at Middlesbrough and anywhere else, an average, fairly uninspired manager. He's not suddenly become an international class coach just because the FA were in a tight spot and needed someone 'safe' and available.
That Word Cup run was great fun, I enjoyed it as much as anyone else. But we lost to Belgium twice and to Croatia. Obviously nothing is going to happen, just got to sit back and wait for a disappointing next major tournament, another 'root and branch' review and then finally he'll depart. A long way to go yet though even though everyone knows it's inevitable already.

We played two decent teams in the World Cup, Croatia and Belgium and contrived to lose to them three times.
