Tony Pulis
On the new Soccer Saturday panel with PaulMerson, Tim Sherwood, Clinton Morrison and Glen Johnson.
Think he will hoping for a return to management ASAP working with that line up.

Those four can hardly string a sentence together,Merson will make the most sense .....what a backward step for a very enjoyable programme .....ruined!

There will be hell to pay - no female.
As for watching it, it's mainly Jeff Stelling really, with bits here and there from whoever is watching the games in the studio, and from people watching at the ground, so not sure it'll make too much difference.
Not a fan of Clinton Morrison at all as can't tell what he's saying.

Re: Tony Pulis
It became unwatchable years ago for me, just the same predictable stuff week after week.
Re: Tony Pulis
Tony Pulis is okay but offers very little insight into anything beyond "he's a top, top lad". There isn't much finesse to anything he does or says, much like his coaching really.
The rest, aside from Glen Johnson who I've never seen or heard of in a punditry role, are absolute garbage.

That's Paul Merson who comes out with the 'top-top' bit. Re: Tony Pulis
I don't watch it that often but when Burnley are not playing on a Saturday I usually do. Le Tissier is the one I won't miss to be honest but you never know who is going to be good and who is going to be bad until they've been on for a few weeks.
It probably needed a freshen up so will see how it goes.

I don't mind Morrison, he's usually complimentary about us. Would have preferred Glen Little to Johnson though.

I somehow doubt Sherwood will be good.
This is, after all, the man who said Tom Carroll was destined to be the new Luka Modric.

Re: Tony Pulis
The ones who left were pretty poor but that list seems almost worse.
Johnson always looks like he’s too embarrassed to speak, Sherwood just talks rubbish and Pulis is just odd.
At least Morrison talks a bit of sense.
Can see Sherwood going well over the top for “shock” factor early on.

Re: Tony Pulis
I've always quite liked Tony Pulis and he certainly adds some credibility to that list having actually achieved something in club management
How we revived Stoke and turned them into a competitive PL side was quite remarkable - from being a club I always associated with top flight football growing up in the 1970s they had fallen a long way - not dissimilar to ourselves but Stoke's population/catchment is much greater than ours
I'm sure Sean looked to him as something of a mentor when he was learning the managerial ropes.
Given the austerity afflicting many clubs outside of the top flight I'm surprised his pragmatic (to put it kindly) approach has not been in greater demand. Despite being required to move on all the high earners at Middlesbrough he only missed the play-offs on goal difference and things haven't gone so well there since he left
Would have thought he'd been in contention for the Birmingham and Huddersfield jobs - can't see him being out of management too much longer

Re: Tony Pulis
Not seen it in a while. Probably needed freshening up a bit but why not go for the likes of Tony Gale. He has a great personality (and a big Ben Mee fan based on his commentary). Can't think of more off the top of my head, brain fried from work, but it's popular because of the banter and humour. There must be other ex-players with a personality. Sherwood is not one I'd place in the bubbly personality category.

Re: Tony Pulis
All these dubious pundits came out cheaper
No one otherwise why would you remove the former occupants who, at least could claim to have decent careers and new a bit about football
Clinton is there for the Sarf London geezer fans to give them a role model
Clark Carlise was nailed on for such a job prior to his health issues.

Re: Tony Pulis
Clinton isn’t very bright and glen Johnson isn’t very animated and is like a rabbit in headlights. Pulis and Sherwood are pretty none descript. Merson and the old guard don't really stand up to scrutiny either but had become familiar and comfortable viewing. That Glen Little podcast should be forwarded to sky, it’s characters who can string a sentence together we need.

Had the misfortune tonight of listening to Clinton Morrison doing the punditry on 5 Live for the Villa Lpool game. Absolutely awful and really thought it spoiled the coverage.

Re: Tony Pulis
How did the idiot Merson keep his job? he must know where the bodies are buried.
We saw Tim Sherwood in a pub in Blackburn when he was captain at B@st@rds. We were en route to an evening ko at deepdale and for some reason he legged it as soon as we walked in. It was the pub just past the church with the massive neon sign.
Just checked, Knowles Arms. The neon cross has gone apparently, that was on St Gabriel's.
