Seems today's opponents have arrived, they were training at Gawthorpe yesterday.

Who's the really thin guy 4th from left

Can he play cb or midfield - could be a good signing

An interesting team based on Madeira
They seem to hold their own in the Portuguese league.

You mean the really tin bloke. We could do with a bit of of steel in midfield! :)

I've got a Tesco delivery this afternoon. I was going to get some Madeira Cake but decided against it, didn't want people thinking I was supporting the opposition. :D

Tony, have you tried a "Pastel de Nata" a custard egg cake/tart ? Nicer than Madeira cake but a bit sweet !!

They're outstanding. I love my traditional custard tart but these are impressive. I only discovered them a few years ago at Ascot races when they had a food/wine + races meeting (this year's wouldve been last weekend). I bought six to bring home last year and scoffed half of them on the train home.

Ally Minium , he's on trial from an un-named Scottish Club, according to Nixon .... He's just back from injury so might be a bit rusty, but could add some steel in midfield. He's hoping to galvanize his career, comes from a good family, I zinc his Dad was a Copper ...... ;)

I haven’t and, being diabetic, I probably shouldn’t. I think I will though having just looked at them.

They’re amazing. I’m not really in to cakes / pastries of any description but can’t resist a pastel de Nata. You definitely should if you can.

That’s a good XI in fact our “ everyone stays “ XI if Mee and a good right wing back were there we could be a VERY good unit indeed imo

This looks like the line up for the real McCoy, so I hope they get rid of any kinks, and most of all stay injury free.

CT-good bit of psychology keeping JT as captain
Is that Mc Neils first headed goal for 1st team?

I’ve only gone off the team the club put out. Somewhat telling though if Tarkowski isn’t captain.

He read the starting lineup out and said Tarky was captain. Then later he mentioned it was Westwood, not Tarky. So some confusion possibly, and it might be Tarky.
