Astonishing to watch. Not just intelligence, but the speed in which he answered.

He should have used a phone a friend to his brother to tell him he was going to win the million!

Thought Clarkson, who I've never been a massive fan of, was great too - really got involved in it and seemed just as amazed as the rest of us. Has a better rapport with the contestants than Tarrant and seems like more of a genuine fan of the show.

Was it recorded pre-lockdown? Curious as don't they have 'ask the audience and 'fastest finger' to determine who sits in the chair?

Thanks fellas. No didn't watch it. Was working. Just caught the headlines and read this thread. Just curious how the format changed with restrictions.

The bloke was unreal, I think there was a bit of luck with the questions based on his expert knowledge but he was certainly very clever. His brother won 500k on the show once as well

Agree with this.
He was brilliant of course, but we noted as the questions went along that most of the questions fell within his comfort zone, and there wasn't really a "killer question" where almost everyone would have to guess. He himself admitted that he was pleased that certain types of (anticipated) questions were not asked. (e.g. trivia, and popular culture).
I thought the last 3 questions (e.g.) were pretty easy for someone who does a bit of quizzing, whereas you might expect them to be tough.
All that said, he seemed a really nice bloke, and obviously knew his stuff.
I'd love to see him in a head to head with Kevin from Eggheads. Two very knowledgeable, but genuinely nice blokes.
