Barrow - 49 years to put this right

Post by ClaretTony » Sat Sep 12, 2020 8:48 am

Barrow will be hoping that lightning doesn't strike twice.

They are at home against Stevenage today in their first Football League match since April 1972. I'm sure the fixture planners sometimes have a weird sense of humour but I've seen that Barrow's final game this season is at Exeter. When they were kicked out of the league in 1972 they had ended that season at Exeter, so until today their most recent league game. They lost it 7-1.

There's just got to be someone up in Barrow who went that day to Exeter(and that's some trek) and is licking his/her lips at the thought of a Phil Bird 'justice' at the end of the season.

Couldn't believe it when I saw that their last game was at Exeter last time.
