Carnage at the Tuscan GP in F1
Opening lap safety car 2 cars out at 1st corner ... a safety car then for 7 laps, then just as the safety car goes in 4 cars wipe-out and the race is red flagged .......

Right mess. 2nd half of grid started racing before the first half.

You do get the odd bit of excitement every few years in F1.
Might watch the highlights later

Bottas will start in pole, Hamilton to his left. My silver sixpence is on the Hammer jumping him for the lead.

Brilliant start by Lewis. Overtakes Bottas on the outside of the first bend.

Red flagged again. I think Mugello should stick to two wheels.

Don’t think I’ve ever watched a race with two red flags. Been some cracking races this year.
Just a shame there’s nobody challenging Hamilton properly.

Agreed. Two wheels = racing.... Four wheels = procession.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 3:56 pmRed flagged again. I think Mugello should stick to two wheels.
Barring crashes and pit strategy, under normal circumstances the order they get to the first corner is the `race` result.
How on EARTH can the outcome of a `race` be decided whilst the car isn't moving? Utterly bizarre.

So you would rather watch a race were nothing at all happens,F1 is pretty shite t the moment with Hamilton's domination...this season has been better than the last 10 at least....bobinho wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 7:53 pmAgreed. Two wheels = racing.... Four wheels = procession.

I'd rather watch a race. For that, it has to be two wheels. Proper racing. Four wheels has become stale and predictable. The tracks have been sanitised so much if you get three cars side by side, they are in parc ferme. At one point it looked like overtaking was going to be banned... Occasionally, we get excitement, but normally that's a crash.
That's not right.

If you're not hugely into F1 I'd still highly recommend the Netflix documentary series 'Formula 1: Drive to Survive'. It certainly reinvigorated my interest in F1, although I'm by no means an avid fan.

Cracking race today ,Hamilton masterclass, but in the merc so it should be . Worth it alone though to watch Kimi wringing the neck of the dreadful Alpha only to be greeted with a 5 sec pen ...”WHAT!!”

Re: Carnage at the Tuscan GP in F1
Was a masterclass. Bottas in his pocket throughout.
Not really a fan of Merc’s dominance in the same way I wasn’t a fan of Ferrari’s in the Schumacher years. But this has happened in all sports, from football to tennis to boxing, where there’s just no competition for the elite performers, and Hamilton/Merc are definitely that. Watching history be made.
Definitely lots of improvement that could be made to the sport to liven it up.

Did you watch the race today? Certainly not a procession at all. Plenty of overtaking today.bobinho wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 7:53 pmAgreed. Two wheels = racing.... Four wheels = procession.

However I personally don’t like Lewis bringing politics into the sport like he has, it’s like his own vehicle for BLM movement

I'm surprised the organisers allowed him to make a political statement on the podium, having said that I googled Breonna Taylor so I guess his action worked.

Of course they allowed it. He’s mixed race. In the current climate, he can do as he wishes. If they ‘forbid’ it, he would make it known and they would be absolutely slaughtered. Then the world would think the governing body of racing is racist.
