Surely Archer or Wood have to come back on, they both have overs available, and England need to strike soon. Rashid is proving expensive, and he's giving them the incentive.

Well for once we can't blame Bairstow.

Carey and Maxwell have been superb
Pity Buttler put that catch down and it seems ages ago now

Stupid from maxwell, particularly as he got away with it the ball before.

Game on now. 10 needed from the last over, but 2 new batsman at the crease.

After praising Morgan’s decisions through the series he goes and does that.

Had to be Curran.

Crazy decision to bowl Rashid, especially with the short boundary, just gifted Australia the game.

Wood has gone for 4.44 from his 9. We didn’t need wickets just dots. Weird.

Game was won at 49. Rashid bowled very poorly, and has mainly been out bowled by Zampa in this series.

Archer bowled too short once again and was too wide most of the time. Not a good bowling performance by him or Rashid and just what Morgan was doing at the end when Wood could have bowled the last over ---I am still scratching my head. C'est la vie!

Hasn't got too much wrong Morgan as England captain.

That was a serious blunder though. You've got Mark Wood bowling 90mph going at comfortably less than five an over with two tail enders in, with the additional bonus of being on a massive high after taking a screamer of a catch the ball before. To go with spin there was ridiculous.

Why the hell did he bowl Rashid to finish it!!!

They were smashing him about and it was inevitable that was going to happen.

Nah... Dane Vila’s decision to bowl Livingstone in the t20 last year is worse, but neither are close to the worst decision ever. Think Nasser bowling in Australia etc...

Not one to call Morgan but his tactics were very odd today. Let Carey and Maxwell get in before bringing Rashid on

Letting Maxwell have the short boundary leg side for Rashid was poor captaincy.

The two lads batted well and took advantage of their lives offered.

Yep that was a bleeding costly no ball, the game would have been done and dusted, amateur cricket from Archer, and he and England paid a heavy price.

On the plus side Bairstow scored runs again, and Billings showed he's more than capable at this level, and there's Ben Stokes still to return, he makes a huge difference to this team, both these teams have won games from a losing position, and you can see why they are the top 2 in this format.

The whole series was nip and tuck, and went right down to the last couple of deliveries, and there has been some great finishes this summer in both the tests, and the white ball matches.

Harsh assessment on Archer. His 1st ever no ball in white ball cricket is hardly amateur.

Felt at the halfway stage the 10 overs between Marsh & Maxwell going for 48 may cost us, we managed 2 boundaries in the 10 overs against the pair.

Buttler dropped an easy catch, Maxwell off Rashid, this a major reason England lost. Time we picked a specialist keeper.

I can see the argument of specialist keeper in the test matches but nobody seems to mention it for one day games.
Who would you bring in?

Stokes is likely to take Billings place when everybodies available. Would you leave out Tom Curran? Buttler himself?

Foakes of Surrey is talked up as the best and he can bat a bit. Buttler, Bairstow and Billings will all lose you the odd game. They have “hard” hands and are clumsy but England has never gone for the best keeper, remember Jim Parks!

I don't think Buttler realised there was a knick off Maxwell and was thinking stumping. The ball had gone wide to his right hand and training kicks in to bring it back to the stumps. Unfortunately this led to it popping out the glove before he took it.

I'm more than happy with Buttler as a package, but always happy for the team to improve.

Certainly no great keepers and batmen around at the moment. Adam Gilchrist was a once in a generation player.

Yes he was very good.

Struggled against Flintoff though.

I dare say Buttler will be far higher rated abroad than in our own country for some reason though. He's absolutely worshipped in India.

Was Gilchrist a good wicket keeper? Australia moved him from wicket keeper, because they had better - he went to first slip and....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii9gaPnyGlI

In answer to the question why he bowled Raschid in the last over, Morgan said that England needed wickets !! Wrong answer - they needed to concede less than 9 runs to win the game !! Correct answer would have have been: I made a mistake in bowling Raschid and would like to apologise to all fans of English cricket !!
