Won’t be anything to do with the pubs. It’s safe to go in them without a mask as you are eating / drinkingpaulatky wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 8:01 pmReports from Wales that a county is now in local lockdown after a cluster of cases linked to a club trip by coach to Doncaster races last week.
The coach stopped at a number of pubs both on the way there and the way back.
We really do seem to be shooting ourselves in the foot.
I fear it will be a long and lonely Christmas for many people

Go to any illegal rave or night club and you will see the young people not giving a ***** about social distancing either.. Go to your local park and see them in large groups vandalising the hard work done by those elderly folks ..Swings and roundaboutsjrgbfc wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 8:23 pmGo to any working mans club or golf club and you'll see plenty of older people completely ignoring any social distancing or mask wearing rules as well.
But obviously its easier to pin the blame on young people, who have probablyhad to sacrifice more than anyone and received no thanks whatsoever from a lot of the older generation.

How many golf clubs, or working mens clubs are you basing that on? How many have you been in recently?jrgbfc wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 8:23 pmGo to any working mans club or golf club and you'll see plenty of older people completely ignoring any social distancing or mask wearing rules as well.

Crowds to return have been put on hold. A good decision the way things are going.

Yes, felt inevitable. Easier mentally to write the season off, as a fan at least, and go and watch - or play if you're young enough - some grassroots football.
Getting away from the ludicrous money, media guff, instagram accounts and billionaire owners is really refreshing. You almost forget what a good game football is when it's just about 22 guys or girls competing on a level playing field and not about how many twitter likes a signing will get you in Singapore.
I'd still love to get back on a full Turf, but might as well do something different for now and make the most of a weird situation.

I’d be shocked if we were back before Xmas. It might even be March/April after the winter.

We won't be going anywhere on a mass scale until next year, when a vaccine is produced.

Perhaps if people hadn't ignored the original instructions (Dominic Cummings for example.) it wouldn't have come to this?
We've all seen the crowded beaches over the summer and the crowded streets at night, so it's no surprise Covid is back with a vengeance.

Yep, massive mishandling of it by the government hasn't helped.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 10:33 amPerhaps if people hadn't ignored the original instructions (Dominic Cummings for example.) it wouldn't have come to this?

I think it is the lemmings who aped DC not he himself who have messed this up, unless you have evidence that 1) he WAS the super spreader and has infected a few hundred thousand 2) and that his strain of virus has changed its incubation period from a few days to a few months

Nothing to do with signings from Singapore, but I did just check Burnley's twitter account to see if there was a signing. The most recent tweet was inviting us to relive Chris Wood's wonder goal at Leicester?NottsClaret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:29 amand not about how many twitter likes a signing will get you in Singapore.

Also at the hashtag FA Cup game last night, I noticed there were crowds inside, not all socially distancing, and they had a massive pile on with the players when they won the shoot-out. How was that allowed to happen?

It's got nothing to do with him spreading the virus but everything to do with the impression he gave.mdd2 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 10:39 amI think it is the lemmings who aped DC not he himself who have messed this up, unless you have evidence that 1) he WAS the super spreader and has infected a few hundred thousand 2) and that his strain of virus has changed its incubation period from a few days to a few months

Cummings set a precedent by his actions, therefore he should shoulder blame and should definitely have either resigned ( fat chance) or been sacked.mdd2 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 10:39 amI think it is the lemmings who aped DC not he himself who have messed this up, unless you have evidence that 1) he WAS the super spreader and has infected a few hundred thousand 2) and that his strain of virus has changed its incubation period from a few days to a few months

Sad to hear this but inevitable once cases started rising and wider restrictions in place.
As for this season I have written it off and quite frankly i am happy for my ST to roll over until next season and no DD payments from April onwards.

Wonder what the legal aspect is regarding clubs playing behind closed doors?
As they are a business are they expected to just carry on playing without any incoming coming in and thousands going to players and staff on a weekly basis?
I'm surprised no clubs are threatening to down tools.

It’ll be interesting to see what is said tonight.
I believe clubs below tier 7 can still have up to 500 people in so many of those might survive.
National League for example will be in big trouble.
