Died at the scene. 5 a.m. car being driven by his girlfriend, seat belts not being worn (they weren't compulsory back then) and his nearby flat in Barnes broken into and ransacked with all his guitars and numerous other items stolen by 9 a.m. Plus an incomplete will which sent his wealth and his subsequent royalties into a shady off shore tax haven under the control of shadowy and unknown "trustees". A weird one. As a teenager I really wasn't into his music at the time (early/mid 70's) but loads of my mates were. However I listen to it frequently these days in the car and much of it has grown on me. Was he any good?? Well, he's one of those who for every brilliant tune (and there's more than a few) there's also a number of self indulgent crap ones, so I really don't know! The riff for "Get It On" is definitely one of THE most iconic ever though.

His girlfriend was Gloria Jones who had a massive Northern soul hit with "Tainted Love".

Indeed she was and also the mother of Bolan's only child Roland who was just 2 years old at the time of his death, so never really met his father. Roland (or Gloria) never got any of Bolan's wealth, but his godfathers are Ringo Starr and the late David Bowie and the latter apparently paid for Roland's private education whilst he was growing up and to put him through university. (Perhaps advanced driving lessons for Gloria might have been a good idea ;) )

Lynyrd Skynyrd - the longest band name to chart that doesn't contain a vowel.

What was the longest song title to chart that also contains no vowels?

Yes, Herts, that's what we were taught early on: Y is a consonant. But your example and many others demonstrate that Y often performs the function of a vowel - hymn, tryst, myth, rhythm, why, dry, spy etc, and most adverb endings -ly.
I think my primary schoolteacher was economical with the truth, and that Y should be reclassified as a dual-purpose letter.

Not the answer I have - I think my question should have read to reach the UK Top 10, which Fall Out Boy didn't.

I was training Recruits at Woolwich, London as a young Army NCO not realising that a few weeks hence we would be re-roled as Firefighters.

I've driven that road many times. The memorial flowers are still there (refreshed, of course).
