Twenty years ago this month we were complaining about 79.9p a litre unleaded and 81.9 for diesel. Wasn't protesting outlawed shortly afterwards?
What was it before lockdown? £1.26 litre for unleaded and not a murmur? I think we may have some nasty fuel duty rises in future to help pay off the covid debt.
I remember being stuck behind tractors a lot as I drove around Yorkshire for my job (when i had fuel of course)

Re: Fuel protests 2000
79.9p in 2000 is the equivalent of £1.38 today, so in real terms fuel prices have dropped by around 10% in the last 20 years.
