Good luck to Jimmy Dunne. I mean that sincerely. We're going to be needing him and to me it makes sense to give him a runout and rest Tarky for Leicester.

But the mighty rangers can't be just put to a side.

No idea if this toe injury Is genuine but what I do know is that if we have to play the first few games of the PL season with a centre back pair of Long and Dunne, I suspect we'll get exactly what we deserve. Very few points.

Are you sure we're not resting Tarky for West Ham? :D

Why would we get what we deserve? If Mee and Tarks were both injured, then what would you suggest that we should/could do other than play Long and Dunne?

this has the makings of Dunne being an absolute diamond and the next one to be on the production line... after today... Dyche will drive Tarks to the Dildodrome in East Ham himself... :D

We knew Mee wasn't going to be fit for the first few games, knew Gibson was off, know Long isn't good enough and know that Dunne is unproven.

To not have rectified that situation by bringing in at least one central defender prior to kicking off the season is just ridiculous

Being unproven is not a reason for signing a replacement. The only way to become proven is by playing.

If you want to argue he isn't good enough, that's a different matter.

(And plenty of successive managers have, by awarding Long a new contract, deemed that he is good enough.)

If that’s the CB pairing on Sunday we could get turned over.

So bring someone in just to cover our 2 main defenders and then that player just sits on the bench when they're fit? Do you know any players prepared to sign for us on that basis and at what cost?

If he is still injured Sunday then that centre half pairing against Leicester is a frightening thought.

If it was the CH pairing with 10 matches to go I might agree, but 1st match is always a lottery.

It is a genuine injury and I am told he would probably have played had it been a league game. And given that Chris Boden is at the ground I would think he has more info and contacts than most of us right now.
