Missed the game but seen he has picked up an injury. Any details on it?

Horrific challenge, and one you’d expect most to be out with for a while, problem is JBG takes a lot longer than most to recover.

Got to feel for him and fingers crossed it’s not as serious as it looked.

Happened yards from the Linesperson and wasn't even given as a foul!

Like I said on the match thread, it reminded me of the Lincoln game and it looks like he'll be out for a similar length of time. If we see him again this season I'll be surprised.

Shocking challenge. Did he get booked? If not surely should be some retrospective action.

Again, didn’t see it, but Danny Mills on TalkSport2 who did the full commentary, said it was a straight red all day long. I watched the game from 25 mins in, and overall, thought we deserved to get through. Shame about JBG though, seems his leg may be broken.

Pundit said on the radio that it was almost certainly a red card challenge and was utterly aghast it didn't even warrant a booking and for once they lamented there was no VAR to see justice prevail.

That jack robinson guy should be ashamed of himself
Described as "reckless" on the bbc website, and that`s an understatement.

As for the pathetic linesman and referee, words fail me

It's difficult to say a straight red.
The defender definitely wins the ball cleanly ahead of Johann, but the follow-through looks terrible.

The linesmen was literally 5 yards away looking straight at it. JBG must be distraught be surprised if he’s not out for most of the season.

For that to go unpunished is appalling. What does it say about the competence of the referee and linesman who didn't even see it as a foul?

Hopefully, it could just be a sore impact injury, but the fact that they put a splint on JBG's leg doesn't bode well. That said, I doubt it's a break as he didn't appear to be in a lot of pain when they carried him off.

Fingers very firmly crossed.

Like Barnes v Chelsea all those years ago, the follow through looked horrific but IMO there wasnt any maliciousness in the initial challenge it was a "take everything" type challenge to let the winger he meant business.
Sadly for us it ended badly, but I'm sure Robinson didnt want or mean that outcome.

One that will be reviewed, perhaps?

I’m one that gets frustrated with the amount of time that JBG spends injured. Just how frustrated must he be now - hoping to be finally fit for a full season and this happens to him.

Fingers crossed it proves to be better than it sounds.

Not only did the referee and linesman judge it to not warrant a yellow....they didn't even judge it to be a free kick as we restarted with a throw in!

Player got the ball clearly. His studs ended up in JBG’s leg but it looked like an accident to me.

Why don’t they have stretcher beaters the same height as each other? He left the pitch at a 45 degree angle. Good job he was strapped in !

Missed the tackle as I was making the tea but looking at the picture on the club website I fail to see how anybody can’t call that reckless and dangerous. Doubt there will be any further action but certainly a shocking tackle.

Much as I don't like seeing players sent off, in the modern game that's a red card all day long, what the officials were doing heaven only knows, they didn't even think it warranted a FK bonkers decision. And every news outlet and commentator that I've read is staggered that he wasn't dismissed.

Shame for JBG, he was starting to regain his match fitness, after missing most of last season.

The ref and linesman only got real time viewing and got to see it once though. Its a bad bad follow through, but he's already cleared the ball before gudmondsson arrives into the tackle. The only problem then is that he's high from the ground with both feet in front of him. Hope it isn't a serious one.

It's his fibula which takes the brunt of the foul. Believe it or not it's not too excruitating to break as long as you keep your leg straight or it's splinted (as JGB's was). The bone's primary function is helping twist the leg. It isn't really used for weight-bearing other than spreading weight/balance.

I think he's broken his leg with that challenge and it ought to have been a straight red.

I've been caught out predicting injuries before and getting them wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if that's a fracture.

Don't think it was malicious but it was a disgusting challenge all the same. Complete disregard for JBG and excessive in the worst and most needless fashion.

Without seeing it again, I think Gudders leg was off the ground at impact. That would allow his leg to move more than if it was grounded. So maybe not as bad as it could have been.

As I say, fingers crossed. He deserves a bit of luck.

Watching it live I thought that the Sheff Utd guy made an exaggerated look towards JBG before committing the tackle which made me wonder if there was some nasty intent there

Again, Danny Mills said there was intent. He said the guy was out to “do” him, and admitted he had done it himself to others a couple of times. Shocking follow through after the tackle, but no VAR tonight, so doubt there will be any recourse.

A disgraceful challenge from a coward. Winning the ball was easy which he did cleanly. That's all that was needed. The rest of it is a horror show as he launched himself at JBG's leg. Should have resulted in a straight red with a lengthy ban. Enough problems in the game without letting animals like that loose on a football field.
Someone on the match thread referred to JBG as being made of 'tissue paper'.I hope he's bright and brave enough to retract that comment in hindsight.

Defender got the ball with strong boot up field.
It's the fact he was airbourn after studs up, knee high with force in the follow through, knowing he'd take our player out in doing so.
He "left one on" as it used to be said. Think Vinnie Jones.

Yellow at least...
Red for me.

The ball was 60/40 in the defenders favour to win.
The challenger far too heavy and dangerous.

Exactly my thoughts too.

Robinson was always going to win the ball, but he exaggerated the follow through to catch Johann. There’s no doubt about it.

Going out to injure, or at least catch a fellow professional, on purpose, is shameful.

He knows what he’s done.

Only seen that Twitter clip, looks like Ben Mee on Gomez with a bit of Barnes on Matic(?). Ball is there to be won and it's been won decisively, with an unfortunate outcome, for us this time. Yellow at most, don't want to see players not going for those challenges.
