Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Couldn’t they just let fans in through the away entrance?
Or maybe it’s a case of managing cost as well, another stand 1/4 still needs stewards, Pie sales people etc

It’s an old ground with lots of issues. I don’t know why one stand can’t be used but I’m sure it will become clear when the club issue plans.Burnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 8:56 pmCouldn’t they just let fans in through the away entrance?

I have mixed feelings about this. Am missing going on but not desperate if it will only be a quarter full with no away fans. Going for a socially distanced pint before could be interesting. Want to go back to normal, just like everyone else l suppose. My Mrs has said she's not bothered until all restrictions are lifted.

Not at all going to winge and yep been there since the 70’s but everyones health is all far more important, and I now travel from the Isle of Man which complicates matters further....I just want to go on with my son, keep our seats but if not successful in a ballot or choose not to go because I can’t get there due to the almost lockdown here that’s fine.......anyone who even dare complain, well.......

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
The home section of the stand has only 1 entrance/exit, so with the lack of social distancing that probably prevents that part of it being used. Also, that may be the same situation with the away section, although it has 2 entrances/exits.majormajor wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 5:14 pmMaybe they don't think it's possible to have the correct social distancing measures in place in the cricket field stand?

Rather annoyingly yet again I cannot log into my account as my user name and password are not recognised, strange how they still though manage to send me my weekly news letter and the like.
I fear it will be as shambolic as the play off final tickets fiasco.

Like many other season ticket holders I won't be applying for a ticket until players and staff follow Coventry and QPR in not kneeling to a career criminal from America
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Really! And just how many season ticket holders is this? But you're probably not going to know whether they are or aren't going to kneel until the start of games! Or just take your seat at 3.01pm and you won't know if the players have done it or haven't.Accrington claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 9:30 amLike many other season ticket holders I won't be applying for a ticket until players and staff follow Coventry and QPR in not kneeling to a career criminal from America

Personally I think it should become a fixed part of the matchday activates just like the fair play handshake became a regular fixture. Sets a good example to the younger generation and in a town like Burnley boy do they need it. #BLMAccrington claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 9:30 amLike many other season ticket holders I won't be applying for a ticket until players and staff follow Coventry and QPR in not kneeling to a career criminal from America

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Just by speaking to people. Plenty of folks main reason for going is the day out with their mates, going for a few beers etc, having a sing on the game. With all this removed it takes most of the fun out of the day.
Games on TV with stupid kickoff times will also make it easier for people to not bother and watch at home.
Plus there'll be some of our older supporters who won't want to risk going on from a health point of view.
Personally I'm looking forward to hopefully getting back soon, but I don't think I'll be applying for every game.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
I was thinking that myself. They are not going to be able to do it any other way though. They can't start allocating people seats in their own stands to any extent, more so with one stand not being in use.
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Had same issue, with the login on the new/main page.
But go to tickets before loging in and it let me log in from there which I have always done.
I went back and 're registered on the main page so now have two different passwords with the same email address.
Have sent an enquiry if this causes any issues.
Will report back any answer I receive.

I understand completely what BLM/Antifa are all about. In my opinion they have set race relations back twenty years, big progress was being made with the 'kick it out' campaign which has been hijacked by what many see as a racist organisation. By the way I am not racist and welcome any player or fan whatever their colour to our club..ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 9:47 amAnd another with no understanding of what it's about and sad that you have to change the direction of a thread to fuel your own bigoted view.

This was a very important topic about re-admission to the ground in limited numbers and the processes the club are putting in place. There was absolutely no call for your post whatsoever even thought you appear or claim to have become a spokesman for many season ticket holders.Accrington claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 10:50 amI understand completely what BLM/Antifa are all about. Well if the PM is correct, then the new restrictions will last 6 months at least, so the chances of fans attending a game on the turf this season will be slim to none I'm afraid.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Football as we know it is getting the long overdue wake up call.
Even the most defiant of fans should realise that at least 48 of the League clubs need to rethink being professional whilst not generating enough income.
The Championship can't be much better given the amount of clubs betting Ranch every season without success.
If the financial bubble is set to implode, even the Premier League is under threat.
I don't think they should get any help from the Government personally but no doubt the players will continue to be paid whilst Clubs infrastructures collapse around them.

I also think the Premier League clamour for returning fans is nothing to do with the fans but to try and avoid the reduction in payments from Broadcasters.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
particularly the overseas ones - if we continue with all games being shown live in the UK, then the different kick off times will enforce rebates this season - and that will be on top of the suggested £160m shortfall in China TV income this season - I would suggest that the Premier League is on target for at least £400m reduction in overseas broadcast income this season (on top of last seasons, £170m and last seasons £160m China shortfall) - add the £170m still owed to Sky and you can see why an owner who does not have deep pockets might be a little cautious when it comes to spending the reserves he has at his disposal

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Lots of people I know feel the same, many whho attend all home games as season ticket holders and a fair number of away games over the years.
I'll still apply but I understand why people do not want to enter a ground in their own, sit a few seats from people they don't know, celebrate on their own, not talk football or anything else to pass the time when it's crap, not stand and natter at h/t with friends and then leave the ground not taking to mates about the game.
I can see the appeal of watching it in a pub with friends it at home with family.
