I must admit Im not sure what kind of financial backing they have but if they can afford it then I could see Bielsa looking at Pope and it being a great signing for Leeds

WBA have conceded 8 and Leeds and Fulham 7 each (so far) in two games.

They are all going to be in trouble if they can't tighten up.

Mbappe and Lewandoski would be good signings for Leeds too.

I am more concerned about Sean being lined up by Baggies as Slaven gets binned

I seriously doubt they could afford them and in any case those players are way too good for Leeds and are playing for two of the top teams in Europe.

Not sure on your football knowledge but surprised youd even suggest that

I predicted last week that with the top 7 or 8 clubs strengthening there would be some big scoring games$ in the season. Chelsea, Liverpool, both Manchesters, Arsenal, Everton now and Spurs, possibly Wolves are all capable of winning games by at least a 5 or 6 goal margin if they are playing the likes of WBA, Leeds, Fulham, maybe even Palace and a few other teams having an off day

Not a big enough draw it's a sideways move at best, he might get tempted at some point but don't see him boing to the midlands.

No way would Dyche go to West Brom with what is effectively a Championship squad - Bilic got them automatic promotion - even if the shaky start continues he'll get a bit longer yet - by which time the transfer window will have closed and no proven PL manager will be tempted to chalk-up a relegation on his CV

Hi there devils advocate. I think you misunderstood. I think Stalbansclaret was making a tongue in cheek comment implying Leeds had in fact no chance of buying the two mentioned in the same way they have no chance of getting hold of Pope.
Easy mistake to make mind you.

Still got around £50m left according to the owner - they have factored TV earnings over next 2 years to raise around £80m - posted a few things about their finances through the summer on the MMT thread including the fact the minor shareholder (San Francisco 49ers) pumped money in and they are still looking for another minor shareholder to invest in them - The owner did say that he had turned down offers for the whole club in the summer

After watching Leeds beat Fulham yesterday they will need all the help they can get.

Leeds need a complete new back 4 plus a goal keeper.

Last season was a very average championship and this seasons promoted clubs are going to find it tough, I can see all three getting relegated

Meslier is not the regualr keeper though and will be banished once Casilla, the club captain, returns to the fold after his injury.
Bielsa was criticised for making him captain and then he is suddenly injured --make of that what you will but Meslier doesn't look up to it at all.

Casilla has been back for ages. He was fit at the end of last season and played in the cup in midweek.

Meslier is their number one now. And he’s crap.

Meslier only got his chance because of Casilla's 8 match suspension which ruled him out until the penultimate game of the season. He did well in concedng 4 goals in 8 games and kept his place for the last two and has started both PL games. however, I don't think that he will keep his place with the club captain waiting in the wings. Mind you, with Bielsa in charge ----who knows?
