1st photo has the Andromeda galaxy on it, made the hairs on my neck stand on end when I realised it was there. That light is 2.5 million years old. Incredible and humbling.
2nd photo a misty nighttime from my garden
3rd taken today, first mushroom of the season I've spotted, a shaggy inkcap.

It looked pretty new when it started being submerged months ago. Not sure why they didnβt take it out then? Where are you in Lytham (not at this very minute stalking wise)?

Thanks Spades - still early in the Rutting season, but thought I might get that combination of clear skies, frost and rising mist. 2 out of 3 wasn't bad. Here's a couple more that I like from the weekend.

Photo threads like this are good and the standards are quite high but the occasional stock photo spoils it, why do that?

(Not a great picture due to the rain and through a window)Our regular Sparrowhawk here again this lunchtime hiding in the tree just outside our kitchen window (a huge family group of Goldfinches were here earlier, one of a Sparrowhawks favourite dinners)
Needless to say not one of our usual small bird visitors Tits, Sparrows or the Goldfinches etc etc etc to be seen.
