Re: Orient v Spurs
Today (Monday 21st) we received formal confirmation which shows that a number of our first-team squad have tested positive for COVID-19.
We have informed the EFL and Tottenham Hotspur and will make a further announcement regarding Tuesday’s match shortly.
We have also informed Mansfield Town, Plymouth Argyle and Oldham Athletic, our three most recent opponents, prior to the public release of this information.
Leyton Orient’s priority is the health and well-being of its players and staff. Those who have tested positive will now strictly follow government self-isolation guidelines.

Re: Orient v Spurs
Walsall v Orient on Saturday, if game goes ahead can imagine Orient playing squad players or youth team players due to the 1st team who have the virus quarantining, few quid on Walsall will be the bet.

Re: Orient v Spurs
Didn't they only find out because Spurs paid for the Orient squad to be tested? Has it kept a footballer out for longer than the 2 week isolation yet.. haven't heard of a 'serious' case with a player so far, not in the UK anyway.

Yes Spurs paid for the testing, EFL clubs don't have mandatory testing now, you'd imagine if any footballers contract the virus they'd get a mild illness at worse, but I guess the fear is it spreads.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 3:32 pmDidn't they only find out because Spurs paid for the Orient squad to be tested? LO will be eager to get this game on at a future date, given they'll miss out on lucrative TV revenue, and for every club any revenue is a godsend right now.
Even more so if fans can't attend in the foreseeable months.

I haven't checked, but the game's now gone hasn't it?
It's a Cup game so no time for any rearrangement or replays. Orient forfeit the game and we move on. No alternative really.

Re: Orient v Spurs
Mentioned on another thread, I wonder if we’ve paid for the Millwall squad to be tested?

It's not been confirmed that Spurs will be given a bye, but that's the most probable decision unfortunately for the O's.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 4:57 pmI haven't checked, but the game's now gone hasn't it?

You do have to wonder how many other EFL clubs would return positive cases if they were tested, and if these restrictions are tightened maybe they will have to in future. Of course that would have it's own financial implications, so there's no easy solution alas.
Leyton Orient v Tottenham: Carabao Cup tie called off after positive coronavirus tests
Is this a sign of things to come and will the entire season be delayed again?

Re: Orient v Spurs
Can really see the lower league teams struggling to fulfil their fixtures this season
Re: Orient v Spurs
Was talking to someone the other day about grass roots/kids footy - can't see there's a hope in hell seeing this season through. Certainly nothing below step 2/3 in non league. You would think the National League is in danger of another ruined season as well. Hope I am wrongJohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 7:08 pmCan really see the lower league teams struggling to fulfil their fixtures this season

Set to lose a 100k of tv money as well. Can’t imagine our board splashing any cash on getting Millwall tested!

Two West Ham players and manager test positive. Not sure what that means for Arsenal players who they played on Saturday etc.
