Re: ALK Capital...
Again, I repeat my statement that I have no knowledge of what is going on with any potential takeover of Burnley FC.
Maybe I can relate a cautionary tale from some years back. A colleague and I were on a visit to a potential customer. In their reception area we saw their announcement of some development plans that they were in the early stages of progressing - this involved a partnership with another firm. What they had announced was also in my employer's area of expertise - and we made our potential customer a competing offer. After a few weeks they accepted our offer and stopped work with the first firm. We then worked for another 3-4 months on adding details and firming up every single part of the development plans. We spent a lot of time and effort (and money) getting everything in place... and finally we were ready to sign up with the customer. Our team returned to their site to get everything signed... but, when we got there they said someone else had turned up with a different proposal and they'd already committed with this new party - and they ended all discussions with us.
It's never done until it's done - lot's of business proposals come to nowt.
I'm sure Mike Garlick and John B will be well aware of these considerations.
Exciting times.

Can’t you just get drunk and let it slip Tony?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:52 pmIt’s 100% not a red herring. As I posted previously they’ve been back in recently and were at the training ground. They’d already been carrying out due diligence prior to that visit.
I don’t know where it is now. It’s definitely not dead in the water but is not progressing as was expected. Why? I’ve no idea on that.
I do know what some of their plans are should they get control or I know what I’ve been told.

Then we have people who do know things who sensibly don’t go rushing to a message board to tell people.

And to really prod some egos, I can also categorically state that BOTH interested parties are continuing to progress their interest with the relevant processes being completed. I believe the Americans are the preferred party and in pole position but the Middle Eastern guys haven’t give up just yet.
I have no interest if this is believed or not, nor do I care if it is in line what others have been told, this is absolute fact

Do know if these middle Eastern guys or Americans have a lot of money? And a question for CT are you going to reveal their plans? If not could you at least say if the plans sound promising or exciting?
Re: ALK Capital...
I know nothing about their wealth or plans just that both parties believe that they have a chance of getting things over the line. The club believe it will be the Americans but the other party are saying, we aren’t giving up that easy.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 10:03 pmDo know if these middle Eastern guys or Americans have a lot of money? Re: ALK Capital...
For someone who would be very nervous at our club going into the hands of non-Clarets, all I'd say is what I've been told, and the source is from people whose words I believe I can trust, it is not bad news.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 10:03 pmDo know if these middle Eastern guys or Americans have a lot of money? When you say plans - I don't have any detail, just an understanding of what I've been told they would want to do and how they would want to run things. The info I have, by the way, is only regarding the potential ALK takeover, not the other one. I'm told they are the more likely and I'm told it is more likely to happen than not. I've no idea who the money people are behind it either, how much it is or how it will be invested. What I've been told does contradict some of the information given out from others on this board. I'm not saying they are correct or incorrect, simply because I don't know whether I am either.

You said that it was from last night - that was incorrect.
I'm telling you that there has been no moderator action at all, one poster removed his own post and that was this morning.
As for being a prickly individual - as for being insulting - sorry, but I find that totally offensive.
You have tried to have other posters believe that some moderation has taken place when it hasn't and I had no option but to correct that. I don't expect and won't accept that to be followed up by such an insulting reply. You might wish to admit you got it wrong but you won't do that will you? You won't be valuing this board much longer if you carry on like this, I can assure you of that. I will not accept unacceptable and unnecessary personal comments like that.

Re: ALK Capital...
Here we are somewhere on page 27 of a thread and I have to wonder how many posts have been off topic, nit-picking, plain argumentative or name calling? It often fells like it is 5 posts on topic then 10 posts of personal affront and/or retaliatory insults before we see another round of something resembling the thread topic. J(EEZ! I feel like I have just joined in on the **** stuff)
Re: ALK Capital...
It’s rubbish how every thread goes this way!!
There has been some really good info on here and Daniel seems to have good sources. Sure, he won’t get everything right with the playing field changing so often. We need to take this board for what it is, a place to get our fix of info relating to the club.
Let’s avoid the personal digs and general bickering

Crikey, not being able to edit will mean a lot of typos getting through especially when trying to post from a small phone.

I think Daniel is great for this board and his info is solid but when posting inside info on here you have to be prepared to be questioned on it, you can make yourself a target. Hopefully he will have a break from posting before coming back to tell us it’s all signed and sealed

That would be a disaster from my perspective - I am forever editing typo's on my posts and editing their structure - I also delete a post at least once a week - mainly as a result of duplication or on the wrong thread.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 8:21 pmTo avoid this happening in future I’ll look to see if I can prevent people deleting or editing their own posts.
I will say it is clear that many on here are starting to show the effects of the pandemic, normally placid and calm people are starting to get tetchy on a semi-permanent basis - people need to show some understanding and empathy when this happens and recognise it for what it is, people stressed about not being able to live the normal life they are used to, and not jump all over it. I thought you spoke so bravely about this a couple of weeks back on that great thread by Rowls.
