Hi All,

I feel compelled to sign up and post on here after hearing this news. Also partly down to the fact you were all cracking down at the valley that year you got promoted to the Prem.
Cheers mate 👍🏻 Sounds worrying.

Even if it is Garlick's decision and his alone, I still find it hard to believe this is the same man who used to speak only of ensuring the club was in the best possible hands to ensure it had a stable future. Whenever he's been asked about selling up, Garlick has always said he'd rather remain in place than sell to the wrong buyer. This lawyer character seems to be anything but a safe bet.
Who knows what a man would/could do when 100m is being whafted under your nose.

If Garlick sells to these 2, then he's not really bothered about the long term future of the club. He's all about the £££.

I know what I would do

Would be odd for MG to run the club so we’ll for so long and then mess it up by selling to some cowboys though?

That's the logical answer if he does sell up to these dodgy blokes. I'd always thought Garlick was tight, yes, but always with the long-term interests of the club in his heart.

Just had an email from a fan involved at Charlton - the last line of the email summed it up to me what it's like to be a fan. It read: "We’re here to help when you’re ready."

Has anyone got any specific information relating to either of these two people which we can base our judgement on? So far I’ve only seen generic comments from disgruntled fans of another club and the fact that he failed the EFL directors test on a technicality.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t know enough about either of them to cast a solid judgement either way. I’d just rather know some specific details before calling them out as ‘dodgy characters’.

We need to get as much info as we can. I've already started that process on behalf of Burnley FC Supporters Groups in terms of other clubs he might have been involved with (Charlton have already been brilliant). I'll also be speaking to the FSA. I'll publish as much as I am able although I'm sure there will be stuff I can't.

If this is happening and is a good move for Burnley FC then we'll find that out. If this is happening and it is not a good move for Burnley FC then we need to be armed with as much information as possible.

First reaction is to agree with you Murger but we need more information if indeed this is happening. We need to gather as much legitimate information as we can from different sources. Don't think I'm disagreeing with you, I'm as nervous as hell about this.

With the inference that Garlick wants to stay on as Exec Chairman you would like to think that he is gaining some assurances as to the strategy for the club going forward before he agrees to selling the club to Buster Bloodvessel.

Give it 12 months...

Burnley Bears will now be coming out at the Think Food stadium and will be playing in their new brown and gold strip.

They will be hoping to beat today's opponents in celebration of the new Michael Jackson statue that was unveiled earlier today.

Agreed. We all may have differing views on the way the club is run, but I don't think there will be a single fan who wants it putting at risk.

Something not quite right here, why on earth would the club participate in talks with people who (allegedly) are not the sort youd want to takeover your legacy....something just not right.

Hopefully not. Hopefully, more of ploy for them to make the next move - may be a push to make them up their bid or something?

Here's hoping though... I didn't like what I saw at Charlton or Bury... remember when Swansea where that well-run Premier League club too for he got involved... this doesn't feel right

I don’t think it matters, Americans or Dubai consortium fronted by a guy banned from owning a football club. BFC loses its town identity, its badge of honour, its us against the world fight.

It’s not going to end well.

There is no evidence to suggest Mohamed El Kashashy has the cash. It says millionaire in in the mirror but we all know that being a millionaire isn't enough in footballing terms today. Mike garlick is a millionaire. And why would a millionaire be shelling out 200m for a football club? How much is left for growth?

Just been reading about the actions of the Charlton fans over the summer. Quite a few fans turned up at IPS Law in Hale, Cheshire about issues with Farnell and their club. This takeover sounds like bad news.

I can hear the laughter from down the road - all those years of Venky jibes will be coming back in spades.
