Josh Brownhill
Deserves his own thread.
Not just for the fantastic goal. I would praise him for his all-round attitude and superb athleticism he must work extra hard at his game.
Thought he was absolutely top performer tonight.
Well played1

Ran his socks off, passed the ball very well. His goal was very very good. Confidence looks high hopefully he takes that performance into the next game in the league

Better than Hendrick
Re: Josh Brownhill
And he wasn't shy about protecting McNeil at the expense of a yellow. FBC.

Re: Josh Brownhill
This comment is very true and speaks volumes for his attitude - and as for the lad Romeo - he stamped or stood on both of dwights knees purposely , an absolute disgrace and should be ashamed of himself . That should be looked back at and a ban issuing in my eyes. If there was more gusto in the “stamps” he could have seriously hurt him. If it was JBG or Beady they’d probably be out for 6 months

Better than Hendrick in almost every way, and I was a big fan of Hendrick - though Hendrick's best performances were out wide admittedly, so it's not a perfect comparison. More positive with the ball, more alert. Going to be interesting to see if his stamina holds into November/December because he waned just a little right towards the end of project restart and didn't have as much an impact as when he first came into the side. I don't really think we've come up against a team who tries to mark him out of the game, but it'll be interesting to see how he copes with that.

I wish we could have kept Hendrick as well as having signed Brownhill. We could have had some real options in midfield.Spiral wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 9:31 pmBetter than Hendrick in almost every way, and I was a big fan of Hendrick - though Hendrick's best performances were out wide admittedly, so it's not a perfect comparison. Re: Josh Brownhill
Brownhill can do everything Hendrick did but much quicker and with far more purpose. Looks a very good player.
Chuck Stephens in there and suddenly a weak area looms strong with options.

He’s got a foot like a traction engine!
Re: Josh Brownhill
What a belter of a goal and seen him do that before - hopefully he can get his shooting boots on in the big league

Very impressive. Great to see that camaraderie. That’s exactly the kind of spirit we want to see.

Re: Josh Brownhill
You would hope the FA will be looking at that and taking retrospective action. Straight red all day long and the incompetent referee yellows Brownhill.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 9:31 pmThis comment is very true and speaks volumes for his attitude - and as for the lad Romeo - he stamped or stood on both of dwights knees purposely , an absolute disgrace and should be ashamed of himself . On the subject of Brownhill. Excellent performance tonight, it really was. As for the goal, I knew he had that in his locker, saw him hit a long ranger in against us for Preston in pre-season 2014.

Re: Josh Brownhill
That was my immediate first thought,
but then I looked at how deep the Millwall defence was, and I reckon he knew he had the space and time

Scored an excellent long ranger for Bristol City against Cardiff too.
The ref was v poor tonight. Romeo should have seen red and Vydra was taken out on the edge of the box and was given nowt. He missed a few others too.

Re: Josh Brownhill
After tonight's performance he must not be pushed out wide. I see a 352 system with him, Ash and Dwight advanced, a new right wing back and Cork right side of a back 3, as an attractive system. Just imagine Tripps in that system and we keep Tarks.

Jack Cork at centre back? Hope the comedown isn’t too bad.summitclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 10:48 pmAfter tonight's performance he must not be pushed out wide. Re: Josh Brownhill
He is perfect for the footballer in a back 3. 5' 11" and reads the game really well. Played there for England under 21's before.

Re: Josh Brownhill
Jack Cork played at centre back against us for Southampton in 2008 alongside Chris Perry. We were 3-0 up after 11 minutes.

Re: Josh Brownhill
What the heck as something that happened 12 years ago when a teenager played against us got to do with now?

Re: Josh Brownhill
Probably the same relevance as something that he did when he was under 21 years old. He’s not a centre back, and certainly not at our level.summitclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 11:08 pmWhat the heck as something that happened 12 years ago when a teenager played against us got to do with now?

Nothing. Who said it had? I’d try reading the thread before making such an unnecessary comment.summitclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 11:08 pmWhat the heck as something that happened 12 years ago when a teenager played against us got to do with now?
