Last Man Standing Competition
This is an idea of raising a few more pounds for the foodbank and I'm just gauging interest.
Basically
1. You pay a fiver to join - half goes to the foodbank and half in prize money.
2. You have to select a team in the Premier League who you think will win that weekend.
3. If your team doesn't win, you're out, but if it does win then you go through to the next week with the same process although you would not be allowed to select a team you have previously selected.
4. This continues until there is one person left standing who takes the prize fund.
No plans to start it for this weekend, just not enough time, but if enough interest will get it started for after the international break.
if you would be interested in joining, please add your name to this thread - it won't be limited to the message board, the more the merrier to get the prize bigger and therefore the foodbank benefiting more.

I am already in two such "games" this week I chose Chelsea in one and Spurs in the other FML!!!
Without wishing to interfere with the admins' setting up, can I suggest a couple of things as follows,
If a player fails to make a selection in time (there can be many reasons why) they then get the default team - who would obviously be the leagues bottom team - rather than being eliminated.
If the game gets down to 2 players you could contact each of them ( via their personal emails) and offer them the chance to share the pot, obviously they would both have to agree for it to happen.

Tony - If people aren't users of the messageboard how will they pay and submit their team selections?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 3:52 pmThis is an idea of raising a few more pounds for the foodbank and I'm just gauging interest.

Re: Last Man Standing Competition
This is brilliant, wasn't expecting such a response.
We'll get the rules set up over the next couple of days and get it opened with the plan to launch it over the weekend of 17th October.

You can count on two entries from me and Mrs Clarets4me .... if you can get " gordonvale " and " timnoone " to open their wallets, then this really will be a " Dear Diary " moment !!

Re: Last Man Standing Competition
I'm a bit thick. Does this mean a fiver a week, or a one-off payment?
