Cricket Central Contracts

Post by dandeclaret » Wed Sep 30, 2020 1:56 pm

Good to see Lancashire continuing to provide players for the test side, with Jimmy Anderson and Jos Buttler awarded test central contracts. 2 of only 12 players awarded them.

Meanwhile in the slogging stuff, it's good to see Yorkshire have provided a quarter of the 12 who got central contracts.

Yorkshire, the home of chubby sloggers.

It's great to see a Claret rewarded for his consistent performances, a truly world class player.

Also I'm surprised that Jos with his broad Lancashire brogue has been selected, Southern bias usually comes into play.

Bresnan has moved to Warks and Oscar has retired.

When they talk about players being leaner and fitter than they once were I presume Tim Bresnan has got an exemption certificate from all the training.

Aye - Bairstow (Cymbals) is definitely in the chubby slogger group. He's timbered up over lockdown.

When it comes to fat belly gut buckets Jack Simmonds surely takes the title, Oscar runner up.

Less than sveldt XI .....

Mike Gatting
Colin Milburn
W.G Grace
Inzaman Ul-Haq
David Boon
Ian Botham
Farouk Engineer ( wk )
Shane Warne
Ian Austin
Merv Hughes
Eddie Hemmings

The team manager would have his hands full with that lot, it'd be like herding cats !
