He might not have been injured.... Playing tonight doesn't prove anything one way or another.
Let's not give people the benefit of the doubt eh?

Hell of a coincidence that he's fit as soon as Leicester sign a different centre back!

Leicester/west ham/other probably want Tarks match fit when they sign him. I imagine thats why he is playing.

The strongest cup line up I've seen in a while! Just wish we had the players available to give McNeil a rest. Sometimes you can play through a slump, but other times you need a game or two out
Trouble with having a couple of games out is knowing how and when to bring them back. How do you drop a player who steps in and steps up? How do you know that the slump is over?
SD’s headache, not mine.

Maybe Tarks was missing due to interest from Leicester, but if he wasn’t then him playing tonight is not exactly a big coincidence.

You said it didn't prove anything one way or the other.
I'm asking why would we risk an injury to a player, if we're about to receive between 30-40 million for him?
I did say that, but it was in response to a post which said because he was playing tonight, proved that his toe injury was true. As others have said, it could still have been a story to protect him amid interest from a couple of clubs.
Playing tonight doesn't prove that theory one way or the other.

Very pleasantly surprised! Tarky back above all. But having Barnsey playing after nine months is great.

I was just pointing out it wasn't as clear cut as you would want to believe, just because he's playing. I've no particular view either way. It could have been true, but just as likely not to have been.

After losing 2-5 at home to Leicester on Sunday, I rather doubt Pep was in a mood to say " have a couple of day's rest, lads " which is why 7 out of the 11 play again today ..... also it's not exactly a long away trip to get out of your legs either !

They’re still wittering on about that ‘hateful 8’ crap on their forum. Some pillock called RammyBlues (from Burnley, ironically) hopes they batter us.
God, I really hate those glory hunting arseholes. I hope we paste them tonight, the cheating *****.

Hardly a risk it's common knowledge West Ham can't raise the valuation & he wouldn't be cup tied as leicester are already knocked out, how committed on the 50/50 he is or whether he pulls out would be more indicative.

Well I don't think we've ever won when I've started the match thread - whereas when Ian starts it we seem to perform better.
Just a warning that's all.
Might be better if somebody else creates the official match thread.

I would read nothing at all into his performance tonight, he's bound to be a bit rusty.

There are so many possible scenarios. Maybe Tarky was asked weeks ago if he'd be happy to leave if we could get a good price for him? Who knows, but some of the bile that has been spewed on here in recent weeks about both Tarks and Garlick has been totally unacceptable.
Just imagine if Tarks was completely innocent in all this and read what's been said about him. Do you think that would help him decide to stay? I don't.

They could have scored but it was offside anyway. We got unlucky in the build up almost collecting the ball in their half from a wayward goalkeeper pass.
Free kick taken quickly by us and Barnes should have scored but can't quite reach it, wouldn't have counted either with linesman flag up.
They go up the other end and a long shot is seen just wide from Rodri. Peacock-Farrell wouldn't have covered it.
All city, we must be careful.
Great save at near post from Sterling. How he got through I don't know.

It looked to me like it was a clear penalty. Ref took a while and didn't give it when it was straight in front of him.
If it was a dive ref should have booked Taylor.
If that was them it would have been an easier decision for the ref.
