Re: Tonight's Lineup
Why the $&@“ did McNeil not even attempt to cross that with his right foot instead of turning the wrong way and passing back with his left. Premier league footballer with literally no option from his right....

Why did the ref blow up for offside, when we were in possession going forward?

I just gave up. Nobody to bring on. Nobody to gee us up. Off to work.
Re: Tonight's Lineup
You have to admire City. Their players are not just skilful they are highly motivated and very fit. I know they cost a fortune but you can see why. The work each player puts in when they don't have the ball (which is not often) is exceptional. Winners mindset.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
We've had some chances but the final ball has generally been bad
Don't feel we've given up at all.
Barnes has a great chance but puts it over.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
We need some leadership on the pitch, especially in the middle.
I couldn't understand putting Brownhill on the wing on Saturday, and I don't understand putting Dwight on the left. Already short of players and we weaken ourselves further by moving players out of their best positions.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
I don't think we've been that bad despite the score. Some positives to take away from tonight. They are just our nemeses when it comes to opposition teams/tactics.
Wouldn't be this bad it we played Liverpool or any other of the spenders.

Rodri has been amazing from them. He's there every time we lose the ball.
Re: Tonight's Lineup
Absolutely garbage, everytime we play them we do the same, sit off, sit deep and get slaughtered, why not try and press and push up at them, it's not like they haven't got in behind when we are deep!

He has about as much positional awareness as a blind bloke stuck in the antarctic in a snowstorm. He's ******* useless

Peacock-Farrell played well tonight. Probably our best player. Looks very agile.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
To be fair to Long, while he’d be out of his depth against Norwich City, let alone Man City, that lot tonight are virtually unplayable.
Leicester had the players to really put them under pressure, their creaky defence is their one weakness, and Vardy loves goals against top sides, but this is a better defence. He always drops in Fernandinho against us, whereas at the weekend they had Ake and Garcia at CB. We used to give Ake a good going over at AFCB, Laporte and Fernandinho are miles better.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
I prefer listening to it on Clarets Player (or + as its now known). We never seem to play badly on there, generally just unlucky if we lose even 5-0 and if lucky we get insights from a Daz Bentley or A Campbell....

A lot of us talk about having a few 50m players ourselves, you’d not be able to pick them out as a neutral would you

Re: Tonight's Lineup
One positive: at least we don't have cringe worthy apparel like the hoody Peppa Pig is wearing.
Re: Tonight's Lineup
Of course a big budget helps but it doesn't guarantee success. Look at Fulham a couple of seasons back. It's about buying the right top quality players who fit your style and work ethic. Guardiola and Klopp have done that.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:24 pmYou can, I don't. it's just about who has the biggest budget.

9 goals conceded in 5 games this season. Not looking great statistics wise so far.
Or 5 goals conceded in 2 League games.
Frightening.
