BPF - 7
Lowton - 6
Tarkowski - 7
Long - 6
Taylor - 6
McNeil - 6
Brownhill - 6
Westwood - 6
Pieters - 7
Wood - 6
Vydra - 5
Barnes - 7

Bardsley - 6
Benson - 7

The free role that's been afforded to McNeil doesn't seem to suit him or help or style of play. Too often he wants to go sideways or demands the ball whilst behind the direction of play.

He's a fantastic player and he can afford to push forward and ask for the ball played ahead of him or at very least in a forward direction.

Taylor is being caught out of position too often too. Again, he's a great player but he needs to work on his tactical game and positional sense.

We've played a very good Man City side who have enormous depth from which to draw upon so we shouldn't be too downheartened. However it's worrying that losing might become a habit and we need to find some kind of spark, inspiration or change to turn things round.

Positives tonight - good to see Barnes and Tarks return, BPF pulled off some good saves and another creditable cameo from Benson.

Our lack of right sided player is now seriously beginning to harm the team as a whole.

We are so one sided that all teams have to do is stop either McNeil or Taylor and we will not score. I hope the Wilson rumours are true because we desperately need someone.

Farrell - 8 looks like our line of top goalkeepers keeps producing
Lowton - 7
Tarks - 7
Long - 6 looked a bit leggy
Taylor - 7 (ganged up on)
McNeil - 7 our whole team revolves around him and everyone knows it.
Westwood - 6 average game for westy had a few poor passes and was caught in possession

Brownhill- 7 turning into our best player needs to start in the middle every game
Pieters - 6 try’s his hardest can’t ask for much more

Wood - 5 not a lot he could do with the service
Barnes - 5 same as above
Vydra 5 same as above

Benson - 6 I like the look of benson has a good touch and his passing his sharp. Think he could very well push into starting eleven in the next couple of years

Lowton getting some rather high marks here. Cant remember the last good game he had. Might get away with it this season but right back is need of a major upgrade soon

Peacock-Farrell 8*
Lowton 5 Too slow
Long 4 Dunne must be a better option, quicker, better footballer
Tarkowski 6
Taylor 7
McNeil 5 Lacking confidence, turning backwards too often when receiving ball, needs to get his head up and take em on, he
has the ability
Westwood 5 Over run in midfield, needs to be more vocal as captain when it`s not going right
Brownhill 5 as Westy
Pieters 6 Old legs but at least he tried running at them
Vydra 5 No service
Barnes 4 Won some free kicks and got some good minutes under his belt

Wood 5 Would have contributed more if he could control the ball
Benson 5 Needs more cameos to progress, did ok

City are VG but it was poor quality football really from us when in possession, couldn`t really see a viable game plan, agree with comments that 451 would possibly benefit us against the top sides.

Peacock-Farrell 8* if BFC make an enquiry about signing your keeper you are clearly missing something. Looked excellent tonight against top opposition.
Lowton 6
Long 6 Better with Tarks talking him through.
Tarkowski 6 thought he was at fault for the 1st. Needs game time
Taylor 6 Couldn’t get down the line tonight anywhere near as much as normal
McNeil 6
Westwood 6
Brownhill 6
Pieters 5
Vydra 5
Barnes 6 Welcome back!!

Wood 5
Benson 6 Hard to judge against City, but looked very promising, hope we can see some more.

Thought City targeted that side of the pitch - and for obvious reasons.

Two things tonight. Firstly a new rightback is a must, because tonights incumbent either simply can't defend and can't smell danger or is too bone idle to get back into position to cover

Secondly, the final ball on a whole was really poor, there must have been at least half a dozen times tonight (encouraging)when we got into very good positions only to balls it completely with a poor final ball

Radio lancs Paul Weller said Lowton was poor
Hoof ball some inflated marks on here did not sound good to me apparently could not keep hold of the ball .
Weller was below average so he knows.

Your opening remark qualifies the difference in ability, but your scoring is still pathetic.
I'm sure most people on here are 'bored to tears' reading your fatuous remarks. Why not go and do something else?

Weller was class before his illness, one of my heros when I was a lad, used to go to soccer school down at Gawthorpe at the time and got his shirt :D

Never bother personally with player ratings but these, for me, summed the game up

Didn't help McNeil that he was asked to play out wide right for most of the game (he just can't swing a cross in using his right foot)

CM is a real worry - there is no strength/height/possession in there at all

Vydra continues to get low marks simply because we do not play to his capabilities - made good runs down the channels but all we saw throughout the game was a regular serving of "hoofball"
