Re: The Beeky - First View
Thanks for the positive comments, I really appreciate them. I've been really nervous since it was ordered from just seeing the sketch. Wondered whether it would be anything like as good as we hoped it might be. For me personally it has exceeded all expectations.

Looks fantastic. A wonderful tribute, the player receiving it annually, will treasure it for sure. Well done to all concerned.

A very fitting tribute to Alan.
He was a massive fan of man who made this.
Amazing work Tony you should be very proud of the results!

Obviously I'm not familiar with the man who's name it's in honour of, however that's one beautiful trophy. Congratulations to the designer, and those who commissioned it. Brilliant job.

Re: The Beeky - First View
We've been using John Ditchfield at Glasform for the glassware trophies now for over a decade and it was Alan who first suggested we used them so it just had to be the only place we should go for The Beeky 2019/20. I've seen no more of this trophy than anyone else as yet, just the photograph on this thread, but I was absolutely delighted when I saw it yesterday. Just looking forward to the final piece once it is all put together and seeing it in the flesh.

What a beautiful trophy. I feel as if I want to touch it, to hold it. It looks very tactile.

A superb effort from all concerned, especially to the artist/designer.
Not just a trophy but something that would look great on anyone's mantelpiece.
Stylish.

Re: The Beeky - First View
I would say it has passed its final test. I've had an email from Alan's wife and she's really pleased with it.

Re: The Beeky - First View
The trophy arrived today - it stands about 14" in height from the foot of the base.
It looks as though we are going to be able to make the presentation at Gawthorpe, hopefully next week. Matt Williams and Peter Oliver are doing the arrangements for us on behalf of the club. We will only be permitted one person there and I'm going to ask Alan's wife Georgina if she would like to go and represent us.
I thought, when I saw the above photograph, that the trophy was nicer than I hoped. Having received it I have to say that I think it is stunning and we've done Beeky proud.

Re: The Beeky - First View
They've done very well incorporating the club colours in the glass, a very attractive trophy.

Re: The Beeky - First View
They are not the easiest colours to get into glass. We first got something from them around 2008 and they told us they'd done some stuff for Ray Winstone who is a West Ham fan.kritichris wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:02 pmThey've done very well incorporating the club colours in the glass, a very attractive trophy.
I couldn't find the words today when it arrived - it really is stunning.

Re: The Beeky - First View
Having approached Glasform about commissioning the trophy they sent us some ideas in sketch format, just basic pencil sketches. I wasn’t the only one to say it but when I saw the sketch for this I immediately said ‘World Cup’ so it’s probably fitting that from next week sometime it will spend its days with Nick Pope who was in the World Cup squad.2 Bee Holed wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:22 amLooks superb.

Re: The Beeky - First View
How does this work CT. is there only one trophy passed along each year or a new one each year?
