R.I.P Eddie Van Halen
Succumbed to throat cancer at the age of 65.
Very sad, he was one of the best.

Not my cup of tea musically but a Clarets connection, even if it was just for the one season.

Re: R.I.P Eddie Van Halen
Just the best! That first album was stunning
I also saw them at Monsters of Rock in 84 and a few years later in Cardiff
Got a signed guitar strap off him in 84! Still got it.

Re: R.I.P Eddie Van Halen
I have a guitar that Eddie signed in 96, very sad news, he'd been fighting cancer for years.

Re: R.I.P Eddie Van Halen
might be mistaken Quicknick, but I think you're confusing him with Dave Lee Roth. he was a climber.

Re: R.I.P Eddie Van Halen
EVH played the amazing "Beat It" solo - one of my favourites to teach. The rest of the guitar parts were played by Steve Lukather of Toto fame.claretandy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 6:12 amDidn't know that he played the famous riff in "Beat it"

Re: R.I.P Eddie Van Halen
Sad news. My Facebook timeline was full of this last night. I knew he was really poorly but it still came as a shock. One of the most influential guitarists of all time.

Re: R.I.P Eddie Van Halen
It was their first album. Eddie’s guitar playing is immense. It really stood out as a special album when it was released. The Enclosure wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:26 pmI was only thinking today of buying Van Halen's record of the same name.Supposed to be one of their best I am told
