Christmas is cancelled

I’m all for it. It would be such a relief to postpone it until next year. Everything else has been cancelled so let’s go for it. It would be just so nice to not have to think about turkeys, trees, etc. for just one year.

Don’t cancel it, just change it to what you like.

We’ve not had turkey & sprouts for 30 years.

I’d like to do away with presents and just have a thanksgiving style Christmas.

We don't celebrate it anyway but for those who do. With the technology these days with Zoom, Whatsapp etc. You can still open presents while on one of those with loved ones. Some companies offer a wrapping service with their delivery. Even have a virtual meal. No need to cancel it, just adapt.

I’m not too fussed about it, but it was my favourite day of the year as a kid, apart from going to the airport in my new Burnley shirt for my holidays.

I enjoy it for my daughters now

Miserable buggers.........Christmas is fab even if yer not a “believer”.......this year it might be cheaper!!! Boxing Days looking a bit bleak though with no footy! May just have to go for a nice long walk on a frosty day, blue sky ending up at a pub with a roaring log fire.........

Unfortunately with total lockdown it'll have to be 1 hours walk and no pub so def cheaper.

Cancelling is a very 'in' obsession at the moment (read WOKE). Christmas fortunately cannot be cancelled as it is fixed in the Christian calender. The hooha surrounding it can be watered down for sure and the way things look that may be inevitable anyway. Hard times ahead Ebeneezer.

But in normal non-corona circumstances, what's wrong with kids wanting to get dressed up and go trick or treating, and adults wanting to get dressed up and have a laugh? So what if the holiday is traditionally more celebrated in America, lots of Americanisms become immersed in British culture.

So many grouches on this board who whine about things that barely affect their lives at all.

I’m actually quite looking forward to a more relaxed Christmas, we have a big family and I had almost 20 for dinner last year, whilst it was great, it was just one big stress for me and I barely got chance to relax and enjoy myself. Boxing Day is usually my favourite day of the year, so I’m gutted that will be low key

Im happy being a "grouch" rather than roll over and meekly accept all the slop that comes my way without criticism.
