Dave Baldwin

Post by Burnleyareback2 » Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:08 pm

Has left his post today as CEO of the EFL.

Feels like it must be linked to Project Big Picture But the statement says it isn’t!

It's not linked to Project Big Picture apparently but the league have managed to quickly lose a very good man there. I spoke to him five or six weeks ago and everything seemed fine at the time, not as though he'd have told me had it not been.

He can't unfortunately and he's on notice until next April although I suspect he won't be there that long.

Is it even remotely feasible he could return or has he outgrown a club like ours? He seemed to do a brilliant job here following the few years of questionable administration that preceded him.

I thought he did a brilliant job, best CEO we've had. Feasible to return? I think that's an emphatic no.

He talks about things having changed at the EFL since he was appointed, and I think we can safely say the same about his previous employers

I don't think anything has changed with his previous employers since he left

Wouldn't be fair on Neil Hart - though I would have much preferred Baldwin's experience over the last 6-7 months - he may have done better in improving internal relations between key figures at the club too, though the fractures were apparent before he left

As Accy’s Chairman has said it’s an amazing coincidence just 24 hours after the “Big Picture” release.

Agree with that sentiment. By all accounts Hart did a good job with the community work but through nobody's fault whatsoever it's a dreadful time for him to be thrust into the top job considering his experience.
