Ok, maybe then. If that's the case it's pointless showing us anything on tv.

Not having a go Riley as I usually go with the offsides as they should be black and white. This just looked wrong.
I know mate, nothing wrong with healthy debate. I think the VAR has a more complex system than what we see on tv. For example, they’ve got to make sure that the line is taken vertically down from the furthest point on the players body, which means that the lines on the ground often don’t look to line up with the players bodies.

Which part of him is in advance of the defenders foot there?

Do you think the lines are placed correctly?

Once the lines are confirmed they are made thicker so they can be seen more easily on TV.

The offside lines are drawn against the parts of the body of attacking and defending players that can be used to score goals. (These parts of the body are the same for all players, no matter their playing position)

The lines can also take into account parts of the body off the ground, such as a player’s shoulder, which is shown as a 3D vertical line.

The positioning of the crosshair is manual, with a line one-pixel wide, so that the exact position of the offside line and the relevant body part can be accurately identified by the VAR.

Mane must have had his pixels offside - as nothing else is

Not heard about evidence being withheld from the tv viewing public. What would be the reason behind that?
I don’t think it’s a case of evidence being withheld. I just read that the VAR’s technology is more complex than the fat lines we see drawn on our screens.

I suppose we just have to trust the technology then :)

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t like it at all and I don’t trust the technology as we know that the margin of error is too large to correctly call decisions as tight as that. But every offside decision is now measured with the same tool and same margin of error, so as crap as it is, it’s consistent.

Why wasn’t he given a red? Not watching it live.

Surely the game continues and if he’d punched him it’d be a red so why not for the tackle
Because punching someone is violent conduct and a bad tackle is serious foul play.

That is the worstofficiated match I’ve ever witnessed.
David Coote should never be on VAR again. The lines for both the VVD incident and Hendersons goal were shocking. Mane in particular the line was taken from his elbow.
Doesn't the AVAR deal with offsides?

Also, Chelsea 1-0 Southampton

So serious foul play is null and void if they’re offside when you smash them?

If you refer back to the photo on page 1 the line is clearly going down from Mane’s elbow, a part of your body you can’t score with. Slide it back to his shoulder or arse, that he can score with, and he is onside.

That image doesn’t even show the line going up to the shoulder. That line to me looks like it’s shown indicatively to let the viewer know that the part of the body judged to be offside is off the ground.

Pretty much, because the definition of serious foul play includes challenging for the ball, so if the ball is dead, it can't be serious foul play. Whether the incident constitutes violent conduct or not is a different question.

A high scoring season does not suit us.

Something is going on, maybe the lack of crowds mean team are more relaxed defensively. All I know is cleans sheet help us to 3 points and if our defense declines as is what seems to be the trend that's one of our most powerful asset neutralized.

Arsenal look a much better side on the ball than previous seasons, but they're always going to struggle against the big boys with that defence.

**** manager, only got the job for obvious reasons.

Always made me laugh how Scholes was paid well for being a player and so kept his mouth shut. He retires; realises he's not earning the stupid amounts he was being paid; realises he has no other talent whatsoever; so then starts shouting off and making the headlines.
