Boxing - Ritson v Vasquez

Post by IanMcL » Sun Oct 18, 2020 12:10 am

Ritson wins on split decision.

Vasquez totally outboxed him and comes unstuck against 3 British judges.

Shambles for boxing.

Basques showed his experience and dominated the movement. Ritson straightine snd looked hopeless!

Prem fixed. Boxing fixed.
Sport down the pan!

Vasquez won that 118-110 on my card. Ritson plodded forward and done nothing. Vasquez kept on turning Ritson and tapped away all night with quick stabs to the head and a few decent left hooks to the body.

Really struggling to get up for Matchroom events nowadays due to the hyped house fighters getting massive favours.

Judge Terry O'connor, playing on his phone mid fight may explain his ridiculous scoring

Didn’t really think Vasquez landed that often, they were landing on the gloves, that said, I thought he was the busier boxer and won it by 3-4.

Ritson, great bloke, you only have to listen to him in his corner and in interviews to see that. He needs to go away and really improve now, I’m not sure he’s that level though.

That Rylan Charlton looked brilliant, although Laws is bang average at best.

Theres been many dodgy decisions in boxing over the years, but that has to be ranked up there with the worst. Embarrassing , when we are normally accusing foreign judges of being cheats.
