Post by Bosscat » Wed Oct 21, 2020 4:38 pm

Just seen on the BFC website Bens back in full training with the lads... Pictures show Matt Lowton too.

Good news 👍🙂👍

Apparently Ben got a round of applause from the rest of the lads when he came out to train - hopefully now there is no reaction and he can get an under-23 game in. This week's will be too early but hopefully the next one.

Why would this week be too early? If he’s back in full training get him some minutes.

Couldn’t see Jay Rod or Wood....

It's only two days away - he'll need to be assessed after today's training. I'd be very surprised to see him play on Friday.

Will he get 1-2 under 23 games first?

Does him being clapped back not suggest his absence was more on compassionate grounds as opposed to the injury he’s had?

Never known a player clapped back into training after missing a few months with an injury.

A bit of both maybe.
he's the club captain, which has a bit of status

Great news that both are back in the fold again, particularly the captain, he will play a key role in the rest of our season.

The fact he was so warmly welcomed back by the lads shows the esteem he's held in, both as a player and a leader.

So much for the team spirit, togetherness, blah, blah that our resident board experts assured us had gone missing in this early season "crisis".

Be surprised if he is back before the international break. Need him after that though and hopefully all goes well.

The u23s are playing Friday. SD usually likes to give a returning player, especially if they have been out for a while, some game time with the u23s as that is different than simple exercising and training.

Club video on you tube showing applause and training. Have to say it was a VERY light workout for Ben but glad to see him back.

That's good news, of course what we don't want to do is rush them back, and them having any adverse reactions.

But it would be a big boost to get them up and running before the busy festive schedule.
