Ben White value

Post by Firthy » Thu Oct 22, 2020 10:43 am

Apparently BHA have valued Ben White at £50m. This really shows how crazy and money orientated football has become. It also begs the question just what is the value of Tarks compared to a CB who was out on loan at a championship club last season.

Tarks doesn't have long left on his contract does he?
Plus he plays for Burnley and we don't play enough tippy tappa football for Southgate

To be honest, I thought this was going to a thread on a clothing brand - something along the lines of "is Ben White fashion better value than.... Primark/Tom Hilfiger/Stone Dry...?" etc ;)

I thought "Ben Shaw's" had amalgamated with "R White's" to make a new soft drinks company 🤔

I'm guessing people would have turned their nose up if Celtic valued Van Dijk at 50 million when he was with them as well, as it turns out he'd have been a bargain.

He played for Leeds in the Championship, and they tried hard to sign him this year.

Normally that means nothing, but since its Leeds players are suddenly worth a lot more than previously. Just look at Phillips in the England camp getting the nod before he even played a Premier League game.

The point was more to the people turning their noses up at White just because he was playing in the Championship last season. I haven't seen much of him so can't really comment, but if Liverpool think he's the real deal and they get 10 good years out of him I don't think 50 million is all that much in today's market.

Such is the talent of this lad if he can get a good season under his belt hes got a real chance of making the Euros squad especially as we are not currently blessed with many good international standard CBs

They can value him at whatever they like! It only matters what somebody’s willing to pay

Leeds are my joint favourite team with Burnley so I watched him a fair bit last season. Already better than Mee and over next two years will be miles ahead of Tarks.

Needs a full season (or maybe two) playing in this league before we see how good he really is

He’s already made a couple of Rickets this season but is highly rated and only young for a CB. Liverpool more likely to go to Napoli for Koulibaly.
If Tarks hasn’t signed a new deal by Jan. I think he’ll have to go. We are not wealthy enough to see out the season and lose him for nothing.

We wouldn’t lose him for nothing at the end of the season as he’d still have a year left on his contract.

he played for Leeds which automatically makes him one of the best defenders the world has ever seen, believed to be better than Maldini in his prime and at 50 million is clearly 200 million undervalued

If you take the game reading skills of Bobby Moore with the size and strength of Jack Charlton, plus the technical ability of Johann Cruyff, that's where he is now. When he gets good he might be some player. ;)
