The clip where he's asked why he made a substitution has been doing the rounds on Twitter and Stan the Man was the first person who came to mind too!

Maybe Chris Wilder is closest to Stan's style in the Premier League these days.

I don't think he's anything like Stan was. Stan had intelligence behind him and subtlety. This bloke doesn't seem to have that.

On a slightly more serious note,. does the interview have to take place when it did? Emotions obviously running high and possibly just left the dressing room having read ' the riot act'.
As a fan I certainly wouldn't embrace facing such questions immediately after a defeat. I've watched football for a very long time but I genuinely don't believe there is anything to be gained for anyone in such a situation unless perhaps the manager is trying to create a particular profile for himself.

Fair dos to the journo for keeping cool. His questions were perfectly reasonable and the responses he got from Yems were totally unreasonable.

Don't think it was said he was anything like Stan, just reminded of him, particularly with the 'We deserved what we got, nothing." Having said that, I've seen Stan more than once speak out of turn, shall we say, at reporters.

Saw another interview with him on EFL show at the weekend, more like the sort of stuff that goes on in Non League. Can't say I see him as any kind of motivator, kick,b*****k and bite is a very limited style in dealing with footballers in my experience.

i'm not sure the club's directors will feel comfortable with him being their public face for very long if this is his style. Manager's need to "give a monkeys" what fans think if they want supporters to back their ways of doing things.

He comes across as a bit of a knob to me.

He's not sussed this game out has he?

If one bloke gets 100 goals and they only let 50 in the other end, they'll have done alright, I reckon.

I think that's a fair description of him

Who’d be a reporter?

Did he say “It’s no good him scoring 100 goals if we let 50 in at the other end” ?

As it’s from the official club page it looks like it could be an “in-club reporter” (similar to what Darren Bentley/Peter Oliver do for us)

Doesn’t excuse the way he responded though

Theres a shed load of Premiership managers far worse in interviews than him...and pundits.
