Wasn't Manny Cussins Bob Lords main foe?

Bob Lord banned Manny Cussins from the Burnley boardroom, I seem to remember.

At a Variety Club dinner in the mid Seventies BL made what was seen to be an anti Semitic comment, prompting Cussins, along with several others, to walk out.
Never one for the diplomatic corps was Bob.

I believe he said he wouldn't have any Jews in the Burnley boardroom, although this might have been paper talk.

He very definitely did not - what he did do was refer at a dinner in Liverpool to the Jews running television - but that was in 1974, the Thomas transfer was in 1972.
Re: ARTICLE: Revie told to keep his trap shut
Who was the player who had agreed to sign for Burnley but before the contract was signed was visited by Don Revie(?) who offered a bagful of cash if he signed for him instead? Both player and his father declined because they had given their word to Burnley - how different from today's world of money, money and more money!!!!!

That was Leeds and the player was Thomas. That was when he was still at school and his dad had by then promised him to us.jtv wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:02 pmWho was the player who had agreed to sign for Burnley but before the contract was signed was visited by Don Revie(?) who offered a bagful of cash if he signed for him instead? Re: ARTICLE: Revie told to keep his trap shut
Dave tells the story in his book. Revie eventually turned up with Reynolds the chairman at Leeds with a suitcase full of bank notes. But Dave’s dad had promised Burnley although he used it to get some more money out of Bob Lord.
But those quotes about them unsettling him at Burnley are not how it was. Thomas wanted out for one reason alone and that reason was Adamson.
