Thanks for the spoiler. Could have just called the thread “F1” or something that doesn’t give out away.

Coming on a sports forum if you don't wish to know a result perhaps isn't the wisest option avalable

Like many sports, it's difficult to say if he's the best of all time: different era, different cars, different technologies, different circuits, different rules. How well would he have driven in the Sterling Moss/Graham Hill era, it's impossible to say. His record, however, speaks for itself, he has been magnificent in the modern era and I hope he goes on to break all the records.

You'll sometimes see in quizzes, questions about who have won the most World Championships in the history of Formula One. People often mention Stirling Moss, yet he didn't actually win any.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 3:12 pmLike many sports, it's difficult to say if he's the best of all time: different era, different cars, different technologies, different circuits, different rules. Like Jimmy White at snooker ... Stirling Moss was always the bridesmaid and never the bride when it came to world championships....FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 3:36 pmYou'll sometimes see in quizzes, questions about who have won the most World Championships in the history of Formula One. And yet....
"Who do you think you are? Stirling Moss?"
Lives on!
I am sure Lewis Hamilton has it. He is ruthless and puts himself in there, when necessary. Back in the day, the danger of death was real. Hamilton could have coped. Also Schumacher.

Great tribute to Stirling Moss tonight on Top Gear (pity it also has Paddy McGinless and Freddie Flintcock too )

Re: Hamilton takes record from Schumacher
Couple of wins away from 7th world title, matching Schumacher, then with little development allowed this winter and pretty much the same set up next season, he'll hit 100 wins and get the 8th world title to claim it outright then retire.
His contract scenario, if you read the press, isn't going well and Toto Wolff also considering his Mercedes career in terms of being team principal, can expect both of them to do next season then they'll depart with Hamilton the greatest of all time.
