Maldives
Maldives
Anyone had a recent experience?
Seems to be so many options, with so many companies looking for your custom.
This is for 2022 for a ruby wedding so want something good without being ripped off.
Any help appreciated.

Re: Maldives
We went a couple of years ago and it was amazing. Depends on what sort of break you're after. I used trip advisor ratings and really had a good look before making the booking to choose a hotel that scored really well..it was superb. Don't always go for the cheapest, read what real people have to say and you can't go wrong..

Re: Maldives
My top tips:
1. Stop in Singapore on the way - fantastic place
2. Get a sea plane if your island isn’t close to the airport. Or even if it is, thinking about it. Experience in itself.
3. Research your accommodation/island well. I found out When I arrived that my island had a good side (where all the pictures were taken) and a bad side (where my cheaper “beach bungalow” was situated ).
4. Further to 3, don’t skrimp on the accommodation. It’s not worth it and if you’ve been married 40 years you bloody deserve it

Re: Maldives
Singapore.....is certainly not on the way (great place though it is). It would be like going to Colne on the way to Nelson...

That’s a very negative way of looking at it. Alternatively, your already half way home on the way backHibsclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:47 pmSingapore.....is certainly not on the way (great place though it is). It would be like going to Colne on the way to Nelson...

Re: Maldives
At least Colne is near to Nelson. Last time I went we'd thought to save a bit of money by flying budget (granted you don't have that option from Europe), 4.5 hours ...Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:47 pmSingapore.....is certainly not on the way (great place though it is). I think it's the equivalent of me flying there via the Middle East.
Re: Maldives
went a considerable time ago with youngest.
Hubby loved it, I didn't, was not child friendly, except super beach and crystal clear water, very few toddlers.
I think if you are into diving scuba/snorkeling it would be ideal, but we were not, place was deserted during the day, as the diving boats went out.
