Frank was sent off 20 minutes from time for swinging a punch at Francis Burns. 2 things I remember from the game are Brian O'Neil's long range equaliser and Andy Lochhead colliding with a post and having to go off. I think Dobson got our winner.

That's a great story Petersa,it always amazes me the memories some of you guys have on here,I remember going in that enclosure watching a game but wouldn't have a clue who we were playing or when it was, thanks for sharing that story.Petersa wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 11:27 amAs I will be on that photo stood on the enclosure near the BH corner I can assure you Steve that the roof was built that way with the bend in it
As my memory seems to play tricks on me these days I think that was the day when after about half an hour the two Man U full backs, Shay Brennan and Tony Dunne were called by the ref, looking confused they wondered what they had done ..both had the number three shirt on and Brennan had to change.
I think the other Burnley player is Dave Merrington

Ignore post , already answered
Re: Photos of Turf Moor- a thread
One thing I notice is that Thomson is wearing dark (claret?) socks (his shorts look off colour too but that may be a trick of the light). In those days I'm pretty sure goalkeepers had to wear the same kit except their shirt which was green.Petersa wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 11:27 amAs I will be on that photo stood on the enclosure near the BH corner I can assure you Steve that the roof was built that way with the bend in it

Re: Photos of Turf Moor- a thread
There was a time about then when a mumber of clubs had their keepers in all green, Burnley/Harry Thomson included. The League believe or not soon put their foot down and stopped it.....all keeepers should wear the same shorts and socks as their team mates. I presume this was around this time

Re: Photos of Turf Moor- a thread
Shirky was telling me before the Spurs game, a Spurs fan was walking past his stall, so he said 'here mate you couldn't do me a favour and look after my dog next Summer? We'll all be going to Europe watching Burnley'.
After the game, the Spurs fan made a point of walking back past his stall to tell him he won't be needing a f****** dog sitter after all.

(I know the thread is for photos, but this is a photo of a painting so it should be OK )

Sorry, but I don’t know. My wife bought it me last year from the shop at Towneley Hall and arranged for the print to be framed. It does look great.
Just realised I got the name wrong, it’s Lloyd George Higgins. I’ve seen some more of his paintings and he’s very much like Lowry, but with more fun!
