I so love the fact it’s in the middle of town.........unlike many a new modern soulless bowl ......Derby, Coventry, Gooners to name but a few....
Gooners is within spitting distance of their old place..

You should be careful posting pictures like that, or you’ll end up getting done for a race crime. (Btw, they’re not my rules). :D

That ain't fancy dress, it's an arrestable offence!!! I almost spilt me brew!!!

And extremely annoying tbh because I'm two seats along on the extreme right, towards the bottom, from the girl with the long hair and you missed me off!!! Shameful!!

A great photo of the Turf from an angle you don't normally see.

Certainly worth zooming in the quality is that good.

I remember seeing this one on one of these sites a few years ago, vaguely recall someone saying a Burnley fan was one of the mechanics for the Red Arrows, but I could be wrong.

There is another one to go with this image, but it's on my laptop which I've lent out.
Not a mechanic, he was one of the pilots.

Taken earlier ?......Perhaps 74 years earlier ?.......1948/49 season ?

First floodlights 1957, lid on the Longside 1954, first concrete steps at front of Longside 1950.

Superb photo, original standing CF end, Bee Hole End tapering down to virtually nothing (until 1970), original Brunshaw Road stand and just mounds of muck on which to stand on the Longside. Very special.

At the bottom of the photo it says 1st October 1929.

Note also no arc for the penalty spot and the huge centre spot. That Bee Hole terracing looks to be just built on top of the bank.

As I will be on that photo stood on the enclosure near the BH corner I can assure you Steve that the roof was built that way with the bend in it

As my memory seems to play tricks on me these days I think that was the day when after about half an hour the two Man U full backs, Shay Brennan and Tony Dunne were called by the ref, looking confused they wondered what they had done ..both had the number three shirt on and Brennan had to change.

I think the other Burnley player is Dave Merrington
