Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
Excellent news however I wouldn't expect him to play in the Chelsea game, you'd hope he'd be available for the Brighton & Palace though, it's vital we pick up points in those 2 games, anything we get from the Chelsea match would be considered a bonus by most people, a welcome bonus admittedly, but a bonus nonetheless.

Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
Fair enough but I hope the phrase 'a free hit' isn't attached to the Chelsea fixture because there is no such thing in competitive sport. Cricket has it, baseball maybe, I don't know but definetly not football.tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 11:34 pmExcellent news however I wouldn't expect him to play in the Chelsea game, you'd hope he'd be available for the Brighton & Palace though, it's vital we pick up points in those 2 games, anything we get from the Chelsea match would be considered a bonus by most people, a welcome bonus admittedly, but a bonus nonetheless.

I agree. We could pretty much take the Chelsea game as a free hit.tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 11:34 pmExcellent news however I wouldn't expect him to play in the Chelsea game, you'd hope he'd be available for the Brighton & Palace though, it's vital we pick up points in those 2 games, anything we get from the Chelsea match would be considered a bonus by most people, a welcome bonus admittedly, but a bonus nonetheless.

You'd like to think that if WBA can stick three past Chelsea fairly easily then we must have a great chance.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 11:36 amI agree. We could pretty much take the Chelsea game as a free hit.

Hook, line and sinker. Thank you.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 11:36 amI agree. We could pretty much take the Chelsea game as a free hit.
Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
It's took us five games so far to score just 3 goals
And when WBA scored those 3 it was against an untried defensive formation
But, I admire your optimism

That’s fair enough but will mean his first game(s) back fall in vital games.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 4:18 pmI think that would be for the best. He needs a full 90 minute game before he comes back.

Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
Opposition was a Derby academy team.
Our team was: Will Norris, Marcel Elva-Fountaine, Bobby Thomas, Ben Mee (Trialist 70), Anthony Glennon, Trialist (Trialist 55), Josh Benson, Mace Goodridge, Ne'Jai Tucker, Lewis Richardson Rob Harker (Max Thompson ht).
Won 2-0 with goals from Goodridge & Thompson.

Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
I don’t, being realistic.
If we were we winning games & injury free, might be a different story, but it’s hard to break that psychological barrier whilst playing against the top teams. Hoping for another solid defensive performance to build from.
Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
But, when fit, who would make way ?
Long looked like a mix of Frans Beckenbauer/ Bobby Moore last night
Seriously, can't wait for the guy to be back
Like a new signing

Thanks CT. Sounds like an average opposition but you have to beat what’s in front of you. Good to see Thompson netting.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 4:36 pmOpposition was a Derby academy team.

Well lets hope this new signing of Ben will be better than the "new signing" of Ashley Barnes who is way off the pre-injured striker we had.

Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
Not according to the manager - he singled him and Wood out for praise for their performances last night.
Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
Just been reading on the BFC website Ben played today in a 2-0 win over Derby under 23's (70 minutes)

Re: Ben Mee to play tomorrow
No arguments. He did exactly what was expected from him. Certainly got into them and apart from the arm into Alderweireld, never a booking, he was fairly honest.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 6:01 pmNot according to the manager - he singled him and Wood out for praise for their performances last night.
