To what? Given our players, what would you change to that could get a result against this Chelsea side?
Play 5 in the middle against teams like Chelsea - we might get some possession and possibly scrape a draw (or at least not get a thrashing like today)

Dyche has to take some responsibility for this , due to his constant negativity which has filtered down to the players

Totally free header for Thiago Silva.

Defence absolutely shocking - I pray Ben Mee can fix what I’m seeing (in that position at least).

What’s the excuse there then?

Brady is an utterly awful player. He scored in the first half of his debut and has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else since that minute, bar one good strike at Bournemouth! He won't even be an asset when we go down as he ain't good enough for the Champ!

Weve been poor today. Shame S we did pretty well against Spurs. But I've no idea what our formation was supposed to be 2nd half Taylor had zero options at all with Dwight plating all over the middle. We lost the stream T 2,0 and could the arsed to grab another.
Its Chelsea and they are a good side but right now we look really devoid of confidence. Lack of fresh faces has made things harder and especially for a side which builds on a solid defensive foundation and having to play the 4th choice CB for around 10 or so games now. Whilst this continues (and Tarkowski has to play on his weaker side to allow jt) dont expect many games whee we keep the score against column down

Right ok, we lost to Chelsea. Cool.

Frankly though in hindsight, none of this matters when you consider we’ve got Brighton next. We simply have to get a result.

Imagine not bothering to back a manager in the summer after we’d finished 10th. Great work by Garlick and the board.

Exactly, it's not like a 0-3 loss is a surprise. We've lost worse to worse teams.

Chelsea are very, very good this year. They have ridiculous quality and squad depth.

You can only be disappointed today if you had unrealistic expectations from the game. Let's see how we do against Hove Albion.

Our fifth year at this level in a row and still playing the same formation as tactics against these teens which looks even worse without any strengthening over the summer.

Dunno, last season's 4-2 defeat against Chelsea was pretty dire. It was only the two late goals that papered over the cracks at the time.

I can accept losing 0-3 to Chelsea at home as long as we put a shift in. Haven’t done it at all this season bar moments in a couple of games. Looked much better against Spurs, and got undone by an error.

Today was poor

After 5 years we've largely been sussed and found out and we haven't evolved or moved forward this close season. We're still trying to do the same things we've always done (dogged defending, constant running and harrying, fighting for second balls etc, etc), but with personnel who are too slow, not fit enough and simply can't do it any more.

We look a yard slower to the ball than all the other teams this season which is a big worry.

Pope escapes a hammering again though. Been poor this season and the first goal today against a very good Chelsea team, on a day like today was always going to be crucial..Even Pope seems to have become slower this season..

Tbf Saints were poor as were WBA and Newc , that “ we rarely get points there “ is a bizzare prognosis . They were games we should have drawn/won . That all said we never expected owt from Spurs/Chelsea and it’s from now on in where we prove ourself in a relatively weak low half prem

No doubt about it, but you can only play with the players you've got and whilst I share your ambition and want of us bringing better players in I think on today's game alone expecting a loss like this was normal.

We have lost to Chelsea 0-3 before when we have had better teams on the field and they've had worse.

Garlick’s policy of not bothering with signings (bar the woeful so far Stephens) while he drags out the takeover really starting to tell. Great work Mike!
Bang on. He gambled on not spending anything on transfers which would come off his good bye windfall in the hope Dyche will work his magic again. What he didn't foresee was Dyche reacting so negatively which has spread through the whole squad.

Agree but as I’ve put above the fact Dyche is having to use exactly the same players is all the fault of our chairman.

The underinvestment is catching up with us. I wonder how much money we need to make us competitive at this level? I'm sure any potential buyers are pondering this question too.

I expected 4 by now. 3 off Saints and 1 at either of Mags or Baggies. So we are 3 behind.
It’s going to be a very strange season and there is a long way to go. Next two games we need points or we will be struggling.
