I wish to apologise to Dwight. I said on the match thread he was adding nothing offensively or defensively. I was wrong.
I’ve endured the game again and noted his input. What the arrows don’t show is his workrate. He was constantly closing down opposition players to make them unavailable for a pass. As well as taking up his defensive position on the edge of our box.
On the down side he had 4 dribbles and was dispossessed 3 times. He did play two excellent forward passes. One to Ash, first half, and one to Matty, late on.
First half he played very narrow, with Josh & Westy, but got out on his line when we had control of the ball. Second half he stayed wider. He only passed the ball away twice, which any manager would be happy with. Won 4 tackles. Twice Charlie crossed from 40yds out when he was available further up the line, wasted opportunities.

We should've cashed in on McNiel and Tarks in the summer. Will be lucky to get 20m for the pair of them now!

Re: Dwights game
I get all that, and an interesting read. However I remember him breaking on the scene and by todays comparison it was electric. His early deliveries meant we were scoring for fun, with Wood in particular benefitting. More recently he has drifted inside more, and admittedly his energy and stamina, and ability to challenge and retain possession have improved no end. However when your teams possession can be rarely 40% or less having someone like Dwight on the break can be highly effective and gives you the ability to manage a series of 1-0 wins. Sadly at this stage draws are not as beneficial as when you are further up the table
